    CLAUDE VONSTROKE
    Dirtybird/San Francisco

Claude VonStroke does not scowl and look mean while he DJs. He does not pretend to know everything and he will be nice to you and your friends. He is grateful to be doing music for a living and he knows that the reason people go to parties is to have fun. If you want to act cool and not have any fun then please do not book him.

The name “Claude VonStroke” was a random joke that caught on after a series of tracks grabbed the attention of underground dance music in 2005. His very first record, “Deep Throat,” was an unusually quirky affair that caught fire worldwide and he has been blessed with similar success stories ever since. Claude’s real name is Barclay Crenshaw, a guy raised in the suburbs Detroit who wanted to be a filmmaker but always had a knack for music. After several different film careers of varying success and with some help from his friends, VonStroke started the “dirtybird” label at the very late age of 32.

Since 2005, dirtybird has carved out a niche as a premiere American label and has released over 40 EPs. VonStroke has released two artist albums as well as a Fabric mix and over 25 remixes for a wide range of commercial and underground artists from Indy rock group “The Rapture” to Detroit techno legend Kevin Saunderson.

In an effort to give something back to the community VonStroke unveiled a new label “mothership” in 2007. A large percentage of the label’s proceeds go to a music school for children in Claude’s hometown of Detroit, Michigan. This label features more euro-flavored techno and house featuring groups like Catz ‘n Dogz, Maetrik and Voodeux.

Tour wise, Claude has headlined almost every major club, festival and basement after-party in the world. The outdoor dirtybird parties in San Francisco’s scenic Golden Gate Park have also become a legendary summer destination point for both locals and international travelers.

But like we said at the start, Claude VonStroke is only coming to see you if you want to enjoy yourself and get sweaty and nasty. If you want to wear a sweater and frown in the VIP section, he is not the right DJ for you.

    JUSTIN MARTIN
    Dirtybird/San Francisco

As the late Oscar Wilde once said: “life is too important to be taken seriously”, an ethos that Justin Martin is sticking with despite achieving soaring success over the last six years as a producer and international DJ.

Justin initially pricked the ears of the electronic music community in 2003 with his first record ‘The Sad Piano’ on Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly label. Everyone in the electronic music food chain got involved, from the A list DJs like Derrick Carter and Pete Tong that were playing the track, to the international music press that were raving about it. It even translated to the German underground, with Poker Flat licensing it for Steve Bug’s ‘Bugnology’ compilation. Like someone that goes bowling for the first time and gets five strikes and a turkey, Justin couldn’t really have hoped for a better entrance.

Feeding off the energy of the San Francisco underground and mentored by fellow super producer Claude VonStroke, Justin was intrinsically involved with the development of dirtybird records, appearing on its first four releases. Justin was soon ready to take flight, releasing a string of solo EPs which flaunted a very unique sound and garnered still more respect among fellow DJS and heavyweight’s of the scene.

In 2010, such respect prompted an invitation for Justin to DJ mix Pete Tong’s infamous “Essential Mix” series and also landed his felicitous placement on the front cover of DJ Magazine. Justin continued to roll out two further killer EPs on dirtybird, which were collaborations with his protégée Ardalan. “Mr Spock” earned recognition from major digital news outlet NPR as “surrounding sounds with tactful little details: the hissing white noise; that chubby, wet bass kick. This is music that doesn’t need to be heard on the dance floor, though it does work awfully well there”. What followed was “Lezgo”, which knocked down the genre walls and pretty much remained a firm fixture in every DJ’s box throughout 2011.

As well as his formidable arsenal of original productions, Justin is now equally known for his collaborations with his brother Christian as The Martin Brothers, producing such hip-hop influenced hits as ‘Duckface’, ‘Stoopit’, ‘Dum’. Justin has also made his mark remixing such bona fide classics as Radiohead’s ‘Nude’, Marshall Jefferson’s ‘Mushrooms’, TG’s ‘Revox’ and remixes for labels such as Fools Gold and Greco Roman, firmly establishing himself as the man to make big tracks even bigger.

2011 found Justin in the perfect position to work on his boldest project to date, his debut artist album and he couldn’t be more enthusiastically happy with the results. “Ghettos & Gardens” long player will be released on dirtybird late spring 2012, with a string of stunning singles to support the release.

Demand for Justin’s skills behind the decks has skyrocketed with his bookings schedule constantly crammed to capacity. With dates everywhere from Panorama Bar (Berlin), Fabric (London), Space (Ibiza) and a full album tour for summer and fall 2o12, its no wonder Justin’s diary is reading like the dreams of a professional raver. Stateside he continues to be a regular fixture at the dirtybird events in San Francisco and beyond.

Music journalists typically describe Justin’s sound as ‘melodic and tough’ with his music encapsulating both melody and emotional depth yet always with enough undeniable ass shaking properties to translate to the floor.

“I’m always trying to find music for my DJ sets that rattles sound systems, but still has enough melody and interesting texture to expand your mind even if you’re sitting at home on a snowy or rainy day.”

He remains as enthusiastic as ever to be involved in the scene. When recently questioned by Resident Advisor on what he’d be doing if he wasn’t a DJ or dance music producer he just replied: “Wishing I was a DJ or music producer.”

By all accounts it’s hard to tell him to wipe that smile off his face.

    LEROY PEPPERS
    Dirtybird/San Francisco

Since 1995, Christian Martin aka Leroy Peppers has been exploring electronic music from one end of the earth to the other; from full-moon parties in the deserts of California to the thumping, dark corners of the London club scene. Christian followed his love for spleen-rattling bass to San Francisco in 2000, where he met up with the now legendary dirtybird crew. The dirtybird BBQ was the brainchild of the four original members – Christian & his brother Justin Martin, and friends Claude VonStroke and Worthy. They had a personal mission to change the landscape of San Francisco house music by throwing an epic free party in the park, based on their new signature sound.

In 2003, with nothing to lose and everything to gain, Christian bought a massive yet necessary sound system on his credit card. This set the standard for a new era of die-hard dedicated DIY producers, all with productions based on heavy bass-lines, smiling faces and dance floor delights.
In 2006, Christian began releasing a steady stream of tracks, first collaborating with Justin under the “Martin Brothers” alias, as well as Claude VonStroke. The Martin Brothers partnership has produced such hip-hop influenced hits as ‘Duckface’, ‘Stoopit’, & ‘Dum’, as well as remixes for Ed Banger and Fool's Gold. On his own, he's released his own brand of bassy house music on labels such as dirtybird, Trapez, and Anabatic. His low end take on tech house has led to remixes for musical heavyweights such as Chromeo, Underworld, L-Vis 1990, and many more.

Christian's devotion to large scale bass has allowed him to champion the dirtybird sound out of the park and onto giant soundsystems at clubs and festivals worldwide. From Fusion (Germany) to Shambhala (Canada), to Coachella & Symbiosis (US), there's a constant demand for what he describes as “bass from the ground up.” In San Francisco, Christian is a resident at dirtybird's raucous quarterly party at Mezzanine; and also at Monarch, the newly opened marvel of a club. His new musical alias Leroy Peppers has recently roared to life, offering an even heavier take on hip-hop influenced bass music. Whether it be Leroy or Christian behind the decks, if your hands aren't clapping your ass surely will be.

    J. PHLIP
    Dirtybird/Berlin

J Phlip (pronounced J Flip) known to some as Jessica Phillipe discovered house music in her hometown of Champaign, Illinois, just 2 hours south of Chicago. Sometime around her 19th birthday she got her first DJ rig – two belt drive turntables and a mixer lacking EQ knobs for 0 bucks! From then on, her poor roomates were forced to listen to a constant dance party in-between her Systems Engineering studies. There aren’t a lot of 4.0 braniac engineering majors who decide to become DJs instead of cashing in on their degrees but Jessica truly loves the music and has dedicated her life to it.

Her proximity to Chicago’s famous house scene tremendously affected her sound, but the distance afforded her the freedom to incorporate a variety of other influences into her repertoire. Her sets posses a fun, “lets-not-forget-this-is-dance-music,” feeling and simultaneously keep you guessing about what might come next. Her collection spans house, tech house, deep house, techno, booty bass and pretty much anything that make you shake your ass.

She’s currently a well known DJ/Producer in San Francisco. Her skills on the decks and in the studio have secured her highly desirable spot as an official member of the dirtybird crew. She has a residency at San Francisco’s infamous Endup nightclub, which is notorious for its non-stop, never-ending parties.

Jessica continues to have new productions coming out on dirtybird where she has signed on as an exclusive original artist. Add to that, remixes on Scion Audio/Visual, Justin Long’s Dotbleep Records, and brand new Denver-based label Full Flavor, and original tunes on Alland Byallo’s Nightlight Music & the east coast imprint, Airdrop. She is currently Claude VonStroke’s favorite support DJ and has already played at amazing high profile gigs like Fabric, Space Ibiza & Back to Basics. She was also chosen for URB Magazine’s Next 100 of 2009 and is looking forward to Berlin, where she will be moving in the spring of 2010. Look out for her this spring in Europe – she WILL be making asses shake on the dancefloor and she’s just as excited about it as the day she got her belt drives!

    (Letter from Claude VonStroke)

“It is not that often that i get to hear someone play who i think is amazing. It is even more rare for me to hear a person that understands what the real “dirtybird” sound is all about. Jessica (J Phlip) is one of those rare gifted DJs who I love to listen to. I can fully attest to her skills on the decks as I have travelled on tour with her from the UK to Spain to Germany and beyond. I promise she can hold her own with anyone I have ever heard play on any stage. If you are thinking about booking someone fresh from dirtybird I really think this is the DJ who can deliver the goods as they were meant to be delivered. Straight from San Francisco with dirty basslines, bootylicious funk, and cute as hell – J. Phlip is the total package. She is moving to Europe for the summer, so this is a chance to hear someone really cool from the original San Francisco dirtybird crew who doesn’t sound like everyone else.”

    WORTHY
    Dirtybird/San Francisco

When it comes down to all the press and hype, his name says it all. He is Worthy. With an in-depth knowledge of production, mixing, and performance, Worthy has the insight to play for his audience, cultivating intense positive energy on the dance floor that can only be portrayed as superhuman. His sound can be described as organic breakbeats with a mix of future house, 80’s, booty bass, and techno. As Carl Cox said, “The Worthy sound has always been powerful, rocking, funky, bass-driven music at its best, and for me this is the new wave in house music.” Worthy has received the recognition of major producers who have played his tracks including Sven Vath, Diplo, and Richie Hawtin, among many.

From salty aired islands to dark club basements, Worthy pays reverence to the traditional form of classic house while tripping off the mark and sinking into the euphoric less-charted territories of booty-clapping bass. Touring the globe, Worthy has performed at renowned venues like Hive in Switzerland, Sankeys in the UK, Electric Pickle in Miami, and Mezzanine in San Francisco. Beloved by his fanatical devotees, Worthy has drawn huge crowds to catch his heart-palpitating, sweat-inducing sets at festivals like Coachella, Ultra, Love Parade, and Burning Man. In 2011, Urb Magazine named Worthy one of the Top DJ’s To See at Burning Man, along with M.A.N.D.Y., Andy C, Soul Clap, Seth Troxler, and The Crystal Method.

Growing up in Washington DC, Worthy was inspired by the early American rave scene. Upon moving to New York in the late 90’s, he was exposed to artists like LTJ Bukem and Stacey Pullen whose music inspired him to play records across multiple genres, from techno and breaks to hiphop and drum n’ bass. In 2001 he swapped coastlines, moving to San Francisco to pursue his music career. He team up with Claude VonStroke as well as fellow east coast brothers Justin and Christian Martin to create the prodigious outdoor party, Dirtybird, which quickly became an institution and a requisite destination for die-hard Bay Area and international fans. Dirtybird Records hatched from the popularity of these parties in 2005, and since then the label and parties have enjoyed tremendous success fueled by the obsession of their cult following.

In 2007 Worthy’s breakout track, Irst Te, released on Dirtybird, quickly established his notoriety as a producer. Concurrently, Worthy released Crack El EP on Leftroom, and soon after, the track Work The Walls and it’s accompanying music video on his personal label, Anabatic Records. Originally intended as an outlet for the release of his own music, Anabatic quickly branched out to sign new artists. Riding the frontlines of today’s music scene, Anabatic Records has been providing a steady stream of edgy, high quality tracks.

In recent years, Worthy has produced a consistent slough of top releases. The release of Worthy & Yankee Zulu’s Concumbia charted in the Top 10 on Beatport for tech house in 2009. He also released various tracks and remixes on Discobelle Records. In the fall of 2011, Worthy teamed up with UK producer Eats Everything. Their first track, Tric Trac, released on Dirtybird received industry praise. Played by artists like Diplo, Boyz Noise, and Cats N’ Dogs, Tric Trac wildly grew in fan appeal moving on to become one of the Top 10 on Beatport for tech house once again. Additionally, Worthy’s simultaneous releases, No Cure and With This combine dirty ass-clapping breaks and gritty synths. The pinball effect of his intricate basslines traverse across the cavern of your ear canal moving inward and blowing your mind. Illustrating the diverse juxtaposition of his range and sound, his February 2012 release, Why You Waiting, on Alive Records, is like glassy water on a quiet morning sea, his beats & melodies mirroring each other, creating a melodic interface that warms the soul. As Worthy states “I want to push my new sound, which is leaning more toward a breakbeat old-school vibe, but still want to keep with the fact that I play house and techno. My focus is to stay innovative and authentic and to continually reinvent myself as an artist.”

Worthy has an original flavor that will amp you up, leaving you feigning for more. The synchronization of Worthy’s music speaks to the connoisseur, the DJ, the groupie and the novice alike. Finding balance and unison across all electronic music platforms, his music is unparalleled. He reads his crowd, breaking and fusing genres, blending styles, and establishing an energetic dance floor camaraderie that makes even the most skeptic hater’s booty shake.

    ARDALAN
    Dirtybird/San Francisco

Growing up in Iran, Ardalan's influences ranged from early Daft Punk to old school techno. When Ardalan moved to the United States, his mind would be blown by the sounds of the infamous dirtybird BBQ parties.

Since he was still under 21, this was his only 'party' experience; yet, it would provide enough momentum to set him up for future success. Investing in music production software, Ardalan worked tirelessly to harness his passion for the deep, techy sound.

Just a few years later, Ardalan's dedication would pay off when he submitted dirtybird's Justin Martin with a 10 minute demo. After one listen, Justin thought the track was genius and took on the project – the outcome was Mr. Spock, a 2010 instant anthem! 2011 has proved to be Ardalan's jump off with releases on Chillin Music, Anabatic Records, Sound Pelligrino, Kabutomushi Records, Evolution Records, Demento Mori and dirtybird. You want it, Ardalan's got it! Lezgo!

    KILL FRENZY
    Dirtybird/Belgium

Kill Frenzy (aka Sébastien) is a young dj producer from Limburg, Belgium. He started to make his own nasty tracks and was one of the first European juke (booty house) producers to release several booty house tracks on the infamous Dust Traxx label (Chicago) and the lengendary Dj Godfather’s label Juke trax (Detroit)

    JUSTIN JAY
    Dirtybird/Los Angeles

Justin is an 19 year old DJ and Producer out of Los Angeles, California. He stumbled into the world of house music at the age of 8 with Daft Punk's Discovery, after studying classical piano for several years. He got his first big break in 2010 when he won a DJ contest sponsored by DJ Mag. Justin was invited to play at the 2010 DJ Mag Top 100 party in London, opening for Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Fedde Le Grand and others, but could not perform because he was under 18. Off the momentum from the contest, Justin landed an apprenticeship at Atlantic Records with DJ Frank E working on dance-infused pop and hip-hop. With a true calling for raunchy tech house, Justin is back to making all sorts of strange electronic music within the underground scene of the industry.

    JESSE JAMES
    Nightsneak/Detroit

The last decade has seen the rise and fall of many faces in the electronic music scene. The last ten years for Jesse James however, has been nothing but a steady rise to the top.

Starting his career in 2000, Jesse  has become one of the midwest's most in demand DJs. Starting NightSneak Entertainment with his cousin James in 2005, the two have built NightSneak into the midwest's largest underground production company, throwing events where the crowds regularly reach numbers upwards of 2,000 attendees.

With a hectic DJ schedule which frequently includes such cities as Chicago, New York, Louisville, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Salt Lake City, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and many more, Jesse still finds time to hit the studio. His production explores the darker side of quirky-Techno, with smooth, heavy bass, and intricate synth patterns.

Jesse's production work, as well his sets on the decks are eerily reminiscent of the sounds of an industrial factory. Having played alongside John Aquaviva, Rob Hood, Green Velvet, DJ bone, Marco Baily, Tech Itch, Bassnectar, Bad Boy bill and many many others, Jesse has shown what it means to grow and persevere in the industry.

    Pretty Lights

Pretty Lights is the musical vision of the ultra-versatile Colorado based producer Derek Vincent Smith. At a time when music lovers from almost all subcultures, and genres are finding common ground in the basic form of bangin' beats, Pretty Lights is giving the people what they want; electro organic cutting-edge party rocking beats that fill venues with energy and emotion, and send dance floors into frenzies. What makes Pretty Lights truly different is that these beats have serious soul. Derek's latest album, "Filling Up The City Skies" is a two disc, 26 track journey through past, present, and future. He juxtaposes collages of beautiful vintage samples against backdrops of futuristic synthesis and dirty broken beats, creating a sound that can snap your neck while simultaneously shedding your tears. The album has been downloaded over 40,000 times from the Pretty Lights website in the short 3 months since its release, proving that the PL sound is not only getting around, it's spreading like a virus.

    Snoop Dogg

REINCARNATED traces the life and career of hip-hop legend SNOOP DOGG, as he embarks on a journey of reincarnation of self that is equal parts career reinvention and spiritual reawakening. The close-up documentary, directed by Andy Capper, seamlessly showcases his journey and controversial transformation from hip-hop star to reggae singer while he was recording his forthcoming album REINCARNATED, executive produced by Major Lazer, coming out April, 2013 on RCA Records / VICE Records.

    Chuckie

Chuckie's leading mixing skills and distinctive productions not only show an indispensable complement to the Dutch dance industry, the international dance-scene has also been giving him a warm welcome. Driven by ambition, enthusiasm and pure passion for music, his characteristic set makes the crowd go wild and his many productions reflect his true visionary in his craft works. Nowadays, Chuckie still continues to surprise the crowd with his mind-blowing style and his story is yet to continue…

    The Crystal Method

The Crystal Method is an American electronic music duo that was created in Los Angeles, California by Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland in the early 1990s. The Crystal Method's music has appeared in numerous TV shows, films, video games, and advertisements. The most prominent is the US television series, Bones (2005–present). Their best-selling album, Vegas, was certified platinum in 2007. The Crystal Method is made up of two members, Ken B. Jordan and Scott Heisler Kirkland. Both of them were born in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kirkland was born when his mother was only fifteen. He grew up listening to his mother's music—disco—and his father's music—rock. When he had grown a little older, he began listening to heavy metal, as well as bands like Depeche Mode. Ken Jordan also grew up listening to classic rock and '80s electronica.

    DATSIK

"I think dubstep has become so huge because it's a complete bastardization of electronic music," exclaims rapidly emerging young producer and artist DATSIK. "There's a little bit of everything thrown in the mix and dirtied up. There are pieces of hip-hop, the bass from electronic dance tracks and the roots of U.K. garage and drum & bass…Dubstep is totally the punk rock of electronic music." If DATSIK (born Troy Beetles) sounds more like a young rapper than one of the world's preeminent young dubstepstars, it's for good reason. The Kelowna, British Columbia, native grew up a hardcore rap fan that still pledges allegiance to classic Wu-Tang Clan and it permeates his dark, aggressive music. DATSIK's future-tech dance-floor detonators exploded on the dubstep scene almost immediately, racking up a series of seven #1 tracks on Beatport, including at one time owning five of the ten tunes on their best-sellers chart. He's also had smash hits on other music sites like Juno, Red Eye and Chemical Records and early remix credits include works for the biggest names in the game like Diplo, The Crystal Method and Bassnectar. Now he's produced a dozen new tracks for his debut full-length album, VITAMIN D on Dim Mak Records, featuring collaborations with Infected Mushroom, DJ Z-Trip and Jonathan Davis of KORN. "I've been a KORN fan since back in the day," DATSIK explains about Jonathan Davis who reached out to him directly to collaborate on KORN's 2011 genre-defying album The Path of Totality. "He was so complementary about our music and how much he loved it. So when he said he wanted to work with us, we couldn't say yes fast enough." The spooky resulting track "Evilution" was built from another Jonathan Davis collaboration, this time with Israeli psy-trance band Infected Mushroom. Collaborating after a chance meeting backstage at New York's massive Electric Zoo festival last summer, the pair brought their wildly disparate sounds together as one. "Blending dubstep with psy-trance and Jonathan Davis sounds kind of insane," DATSIK admits, "but the track came out great and I'm stoked on it." Next to manic dubstep tracks like the menacing "Napalm" (featuring rapper Messenian), the grimy, hip-hop swagger of DJ Z-Trip collaboration "Double Trouble" and the devastating first single "Fully Blown" with rapper Snack the Ripper, DATSIK's debut album VITAMIN D is poised to set a new standard in the wild world of dubstep. Loaded with bone-rattling beats and enough energy to power the Vegas Strip, it's poised to be the dubstep full-length to beat in 2012. "It's important to me to have my own style," he stresses, citing Method Man as the one artist at the top of his collaboration "bucket list." "I will always have a strong hip-hop element and be heavy as f—, but it's always going to sound like the future." DATSIK cut his live teeth in 2011 as one of the featured artists on IDentity, North America's first-ever all-electronic music tour, as well as support for KORN on their 'Path of Totality' tour. On the eve of the extensive DEADMEAT tour with Dim Mak label owner/DJ rock star DJ Steve Aoki, and with scheduled sets at festivals like Ultra Music Festival and Coachella, DATSIK's already-legendary live shows will be hitting more than 40 North American cities just over the next few months. "Lately, I'm focusing on creating memorable songs, so it's always real music and not just a collection of cool beats," DATSIK says finally. "Of course, it's gotta be funky so people can dance to it. More than anything, I want people to be able to hum my songs, robot noises and all."

    DOCTOR P
At 14 years of age most young people are starting to realize their potential. This was no different for Doctor P back in 2000 when he discovered the music world. At the age of 14 he started to play instruments finding a great love for the drums and guitar, as well as many others. By the age of 16 he took this talent to the live stage with unsigned bands, developing his gift to a better level and getting a taste of the musical world he was destined for. 2 years later, he discovered the world of DJ-ing and electronic music production, leading him to start experimenting further with his talents thus leading him to university where he decided to study music production at Northampton and then at the official Steinberg university in Huddersfield gaining a 2nd class bsc (hons) in popular music production. With his new skills, Doctor P started to attract interest from artists and labels within the drum & bass market, the first being cyntax error records in 2006. This saw his first début release called 'the lawnmower tune b/w vitamin funk' which had additional production by DJ Amadeus. This was to be the record labels' début 12″ under the pseudonym 'sounds destructive'.

    Excision

The name itself presents a terrifying image- a mangled, forced extraction, quite literally "removal by cutting". It should come as no surprise that the sounds behind this name are just as filthy, brutal, and unforgiving as the namesake suggests. Excision shows are like no other- a virtual apocalypse of twisting and morphing sounds turn massive crowds into a frenzy, as virtual walls of bass are relentlessly impaled time and time again upon their fragile bodies and ears. Your ears will ring and your eyes will roll into the back of your head as you are suspended in what can only be called a true sensory overload. Bass will rain down from above for hours as Excision's skills as a DJ and producer shine like an unholy light from the underworld. The true champion of bass music, Excision hails from Kelowna, British Columbia. The founder of the ROTTUN label, a bass music conglomerate that has shaped the sound of modern Bass music, Excision has created a vast roster of allies that has only bolstered his spot as a warrior of bass music. Armed with a library of destruction and filth, Excision has time and time again tested the limits of electronic music with vastly different sets that encompass a full range of genres. The things you see and hear during the precious time you are engaged by Excision's sounds will eclipse your mind for a lifetime, as you are constantly enlightened by the true fervor and energy that only an Excision set can provide. Flux Pavilion

Joshua Steele, known professionally as Flux Pavilion, is an English dubstep producer and DJ. He is the co-founder of Circus Records, along with Doctor P, DJ Swan-E and Dyspro. He is best known for his 2011 single "Bass Cannon", which peaked at number 56 on the UK Singles Chart, and was placed on the Radio 1 A-List. Along with Doctor P, Flux Pavilion presented the 2011 compilation album Circus One, to which he contributed four tracks. In August 2011 his track "I Can't Stop" was sampled by producer Shama "Sak Pase" Joseph for hip-hop album, Watch the Throne by Jay-Z and Kanye West. In December 2011, Flux Pavilion was nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2012 poll, as one of only two independent artists on the longlist. On 5 March 2012, his track "I Can't Stop" was used in the viral Kony 2012 campaign, and was previously featured in SSX.

    Gareth Emery

Most DJ/producers don't crack into the DJMag Top 100 before the age of 30. Most of them don't shun major label attention. Most of them don't have them don't have the balls to call out the scene that they belong to when it's failing to deliver the goods. And some don't even produce 'their' own tracks. Gareth Emery, with his potent blend of trance, house, electro and techno, however, is not your average major league artist. He was a prodigious talent in his childhood, teaching himself to play the piano from the age of 4, and continuing his invaluable classical education until he began playing guitar in an indie band at 15. Neither of these were false starts for his eventual electronic conversion; instead, both paths giving him essential experience and understanding of music and songwriting and how to convey emotion through his sounds. His baptism of fire came on a chance trance trip to Ibiza in 1998, which was followed by three years of learning the machinations of electronic music making. At the age of 22, he created a track on a laptop while on holiday in France. That track was the instant classic Mistral; a stunning debut which soon had unsuspecting pundits and clubbers alike eating out of his hands. From here onwards his career ascent was impressively – and deservedly – rapid. "I guess it's just good, melodic dance music," he says of his musical style. "One of the most positive things about the scene over the past few years has been the gradual breaking down of genre barriers and the cross-pollination of sounds. I just look for records that I enjoy musically and also work well in a club. The genre is unimportant". He's not afraid to meld his bold, scintillating electronic motifs with more organic flavours, with his crisp, sharp leads and basslines frequently married to soaring vocals, traditional songwriting prowess and what some might call 'proper' instruments. While he's spent record-breaking stints at the top of Beatport's Trance sales chart, and while trance will always be a part of what he does, he won't let the sound ultimately define him. "I've realised that my strength is in music and melodies that touch people. I'm a music guy. It just happens to be that the music I make is electronic. That realisation has allowed me a lot more creative freedom, then when I felt I had to write music for a certain 'scene'." It's this very decision which has helped him to garner such widespread acclaim and which has ensured that he's never boxed as simply a trance DJ/producer. His ambitions are bigger than any one sound or scene, and his eclectically flavoured output is testament to that fact. "The longer I've been producing, the less I see myself as a dance music producer and more as an artist and musician" he explains of this approach to production. "I always start a track with the music, rather than the beats, and I found the dance scene after classical piano training and years of playing guitar in bands, so I guess in a way I've come full circle." His ground-breaking podcast started back in 2006, marking him out as one of the key early adopters of the now ubiquitous format. Nominated several times for the Miami IMDA Best Podcast award, it's been a seriously important calling card for his career. "I got lucky basically. But I also never had any musical rules about the show; it was always whatever tracks I liked that week, regardless of whether they fitted my sets. Down the line that allowed me to be more innovative and varied with my DJ sets." He's consistently voted inside the DJMag Top 100 DJs Poll – peaking at Number 7 – with his burgeoning Garuda party selling out Manchester's legendary Sankeys four times in a row and spawning a critically acclaimed compilation, The Sound Of Garuda. Building a musical brand around his name in record shops, download stores, radio and clubland has given him an all-encompassing reputation in dance music which is rivalled by few. His 2012 is off to a huge start, with latest single Concrete Angel premiered on Judge Jules' Radio 1 show , and its video added to the prestigious MTV Dance playlist as well as racking up 1 million YouTube plays in its first three weeks online. He's been chosen as a resident for Las Vegas's Marquee – one of the most outstanding club venues in the world in the city that everyone's calling the new Ibiza – while he's also playing the enormous Ultra Music Festival and taking Garuda to Space Miami. Clocking up air miles like nobody's business, he's massively in demand across the globe, his continually evolving sound gaining him bookings at an impressive variety of clubs and festivals the world over. As you can probably tell, Gareth Emery is a man of hard-graft and sizeable ambition. His ambitions are impressive, with a view to produce bands and other artists in the future. His focus for the foreseeable future is on building further on the huge platform that Garuda sits on, taking his club nights and new show across the globe, while continuing to create more slices of 'anti-genre' dancefloor gold.

    GZA

When it comes to thought provoking, street-bred raw lyricism, the Wu-Tang Clan's fountain of wisdom, GZA takes his job very seriously. The way he crafts his double-edged rhyme flow mirrors the skill and precise technique of one who works with fine ceramics. GZA's metaphoric and multi-layered lyrics are often touted by critics as his rap name implies; genius. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in every borough of New York City, The GZA's workmanship can be found three albums deep with classics dating back to 1991 including the albums Words From The Genius, the gold-selling Liquid Swords and Beneath The Surface. Before his days of microphone notoriety, GZA found himself, during the early ages of rap music, travelling throughout New York City sharpening his rap skills in scattered rhyme battles. "I've studied rap in every borough," the GZA says proudly. "I've been rhyming before a lot of these cats out here were born. We've [Wu Tang Clan] always drank, ate and slept hip-hop. I love it." On his latest blockbuster album Legend Of The Liquid Sword, The GZA makes reference to his hip- hop foundation on the reflective Fam (Members Only) "I grew up around B-Boys, DJs, MCs, through rap, never thinking in ways of TV," the Genius raps. "It was strictly all about magnificent rhyme clout." During GZA's travels, he encountered other rap veterans that recognized his promise and helped to nurture his talent. "I watched a lot of people come up that are big now," Genius says earnestly. "I used to make demo tapes with cats that rocked with Russell Simmons and people like that. The history goes so far back; I've always been really focused on writing dope rhymes." The GZA's dream of perfection has been realized once again on his fourth album to date. Legend Of The Liquid Sword not only regains the powerful momentum started by the last three releases, it adds to the Genius' verbal legacy with uncompromising integrity. Heat-seeking darts like the introspective, Auto Bio where GZA breaks down the elements of his life that created the man he is and the crime thriller Luminal. What has always set The GZA apart from the ordinary is his ability to create complex images with simple context. In the same way it's said that a picture is worth a thousand words, Genius assembles his words to create thousands of vivid pictures. "I don't like to just be simple," he explains. "Even though some of my stuff can seem simple at times, I like to write in a way that when you listen to it over and over again, you hear something new and it requires you to think." Legend Of The Liquid Sword does just that. Whether the listener gets captured by the vocal acrobatics of Santi White (who has written songs for Res) on GZA's Stay In Line or the authentic old school soul production on the masterpiece Animal Planet, Genius weaves satisfying brain food through his lyrics. In his phenomenally cerebral use of metaphors, The Genius flawlessly equates human city dwellers to animals in the jungle on Animal Planet, which was produced by rhythm doctor Bink (who has produced heavyweight joints for Fat Joe, Nate Dogg, Mr. Cheeks and Faith Evans). With beats by fellow Wu Tang brother RZA, Jaz-O (Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt album), DJ Muggs (who has produced for Cypress Hill, Mobb Deep), Wu producer Mathematics (Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Sunz of Man), Arabian Knight and other sonic masterminds, GZA's talents come across even heavier. On the adrenaline raising Hip Hop call to arms, Knock, Knock (the album's shining debut single), The GZA asks on the chorus, "knock, knock, who the f*** is banging at my door, is it abstract, commercial or hardcore?" In his signature way of ill rhyme construction, GZA further defines the parameters of what rap music should be. Don't call GZA's comeback just a comeback, it's a return of an entirely revolutionary thought process. "When we did Back In The Game on the Wu-Tang Iron Flag album, I did a verse about gambling," he explains solidly. "I didn't want to be 'back in the game' or 'back on the block,' that's typical. I made it all metaphorical." It's those same metaphors that makes the Genius' liquid sword a living legend in it's own time.

    Infected Mushroom

Electronic music, mega-legends Infected Mushroom are best known for being the sonic innovators of the "Psychedelic (Psy) Trance" genre. Twice ranked amongst the world's "10 Best DJ's" by the Bible of the Scene (U.K.'s DJ Magazine) and with over 14 million hits on YouTube and a #8 position on the Billboard chart, the Israel-bred, L.A. based duo Amit "Duvdev" Duvdevani and Erez Eisen have ranked their "kingdom" amongst the highest in the scene. In 2011 the Infected Mushroom legacy explodes into the future with their first full-length album (title soon to be released) since 2009's The Legend of the Black Shawarma. With 120 live shows booked on the stages at Nocturnal Wonderland (Texas/Los Angeles), World Electronic Music Festival (WEMF) in Canada, Electric Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas, Nevada), and the Opulent Temple at Burningman (Black Rock City, Nevada) and many others. Adoring fans continue to descend below their stage en masse as all walks coming together for the same reason: to experience Infected Mushroom, the world's greatest Psy Trance band of the decade. – Jay Hill, ©2011 The Writing Studio

    Lotus

Lotus has crafted a unique musical style outside of simple genre limitations. On a given weekend the band could be the only group with guitars at an all electronic music festival and then the next night crash a traditional rock festival with their dance heavy beats, synths and samples. Equal parts instrumental post-rock and electronic dance, the band's distinguishing feature is the ability to maintain a decidedly unique musical voice and remain current while bucking passing trends. No matter what the venue, the energetic joy and catharsis of a Lotus show is infectious. The band slowly built a devoted fan base through steady touring and the crowds have grown at an increasing pace. This grassroots growth has made the band in high demand for festivals including Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Ultra, and Rothbury and earned the band sold out shows at the country's premier theatres and clubs. Lotus's new self-titled album moves in a decidedly more electronic direction than their previous two releases – Hammerstrike (2008) and Oil on Glass/Feather on Wood (2009). Analog synthesizers, manipulated sounds, dub effects and heavy bass are complemented by horn and string arrangements in addition to Lotus's standard guitar/bass/drums instrumentation. Grooves move from slinky funk and gritty half-time on the first half of the album to the beautiful and expansive closing track Orchids. While short pieces of vocals are used throughout, the only song to feature singing is The Surf. The track may be the closest thing to an indie-pop song the band has released, but the melodic guitar hooks and ecstatic synth parts are pure Lotus. Similar to their music, the recording process for the album looked in multiple directions in order to achieve a distinct style. Using traditional recording methods to track live to analog tape and then editing and mixing using modern techniques created an expanded musical space filled with uniquely crafted sounds. The band road tested and tweaked these tracks for the better part of two years. The result is an album worthy of the self-titled status – the band's singular sound and spirit runs through every track.

    Morgan Page

Morgan Page was best known in the underground for his bootleg Cease & Desist album – a collection of unauthorized remixes of artists like Coldplay, Imogen Heap, and David Bowie. The album drew rave reviews online and with DJs; becoming an instant underground classic. Ironically, rather than receive the expected cease and desist letters, the album provided the majors with a solid showcase of Page's work, and it wasn't long before they began hiring Morgan to legitimately remix artists like Stevie Nicks, Nelly Furtado, and Frank Sinatra. Now, established as a sought after remixer, Morgan Page has signed with Nettwerk Records to release his debut album, ELEVATE. It's a unique 12-song collection of remixes and original songs that seamlessly weaves highlights of Morgan's prolific production career with his organic, melody-driven tracks. The single, "The Longest Road" charted on US, UK, and German dance charts, and has been supported by some of the world's highest-profile DJs.

    Paul Van Dyk

or more than two decades, the world has known Paul van Dyk as one of Germany's most successful musicians and as one of the ultimate superstars of electronic music. As an artist, DJ and producer, Paul has surpassed various milestones over the course of his career, including having sold more than 3.5 million albums and being twice voted the world's No.1 DJ. He has remixed the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, U2 and Depeche Mode. Earning a Grammy nomination and accepting the "Order of Merit" from the state of Berlin are just two of Paul's numerous accomplishments and accolades for his talents. His sensational DJ sets attract expansive crowds on every continent. Not only does van Dyk fill the world's best-known venues, but every year he transforms New York's Central Park into a unique open-air festival. His solo, beach-side performance in Rio de Janeiro attracted over one million people, and in May, he took over London's O2 Brixton Academy for a standout show, whetting the UK's appetite for his forthcoming Summer festival appearances. Away from the world of music, Paul's extracurricular exploits are without comparison. He grew up in East Berlin and experienced a divided city first-handedly in the former GDR, then beheld such historical events as the of the fall of the Berlin wall and the city's re-unification. World leaders and a television audience of billions recently witnessed Paul's performance of his anthem "We Are One" at the German Reunification ceremony, reiterating his role as a unique ambassador for the dance music community. During his extensive travels, Paul has been both an established figure for the youth and also a musical ambassador for the re-united Germany. Closer to home – both geographically and personally – his social enterprise work in Berlin includes his charity Rückenwind, which has led to regular dialogue with Germany's politicians and policy makers on diverse issues. Paul van Dyk is truly an exceptional figure. At the moment, Paul van Dyk is working on his upcoming artist album EVOLUTION, which will be released Autumn 2011 and accompanied worldwide by a brand new show.

    Porter Robinson

Unlikely doesn't even begin to describe Porter Robinson's rapid ascent to the forefront of the world of dance music. Hailing from North Carolina, 18-year-old Porter Robinson had never set foot in a club when his smash hit "Say My Name" shot to number one on Beatport's Electro-House chart, making people do just that on dancefloors and DJ booths across the globe. Complex yet catchy, and classic yet cutting edge, Porter Robinson's instantly recognizable sound has earned him the raving support of legendary producers such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta, The Crystal Method and Armand Van Helden, and landed him shows across the globe – all before he had even had the chance to finish high school. Some might call Porter a prodigy, but that label belies his musical maturity and ignores his years of production experience, which reveal themselves in the way he blends the best of seemingly distinct genres into a style uniquely his own. His massive electro hooks paired with nasty dubstep warbles and shimmering trance breakdowns transcend tired genre adjectives like "progressive" or "fidget", taking listeners into an uncharted territory of hard-hitting house music.

    UZ
The mysterious ƱZ came up on the soundcloud scene about 4 months ago, with the amazing ŤɌ∆Ҏ ᶊῌῗ† series. With huge support from DJ's worldwide, the likes of Diplo, Flosstradamus, JWLS, Toddla T, Baauer, and Craze to name a few, UZ's debut EP was released on Jeffree's, a sub-label to Mad Decent. "UZ tunes are drunken energy sub bass and cartoon horn stabs that make my stomach feel weird and my feet shuffle," Diplo writes. Raw and powerful, but with a laid back tempo, UZ gives listeners a chance to slow down without losing momentum.

    Dieselboy

DIESELBOY – THE DESTROYER At a time when headline "DJs" shamelessly play pre-programmed or pre-recorded sets and the masses mindlessly embrace the charade, Dieselboy stands out as a rare veteran of the art and craft of live DJing. His focus on creating complex and unique mixes every performance have created legions of fans around the world. Very few artists mix live on three decks with more precision, intensity or finesse. For over two decades one of the world's great ambassadors of drum 'n' bass and more recently dubstep, Dieselboy, also known as Damian Higgins, is America's most iconic underground bass music curator and pioneer. He was the first drum 'n' bass artist to chart a single on Billboard's dance chart with "Invid" in 2000, and the first American voted into the UK-based Drum & Bass Arena Top 10 DJs online poll in 2004. He has appeared on magazine covers, been heard on MTV, ESPN and numerous video games, and sponsored by DC Shoes and Pioneer Pro DJ. In 2002 Dieselboy founded Human Imprint, North America's most prolific, dynamic and innovative drum 'n' bass label, and is co-founder of dubstep/electro label SubHuman, both now under the umbrella of Planet Human. Planet Human is beloved by its fans for top quality high energy releases by international vanguard artists including Bare (US), Mark Instinct (Canada), Mayhem (US), Muffler (Finland), Nerd Rage (US), Nightwalker (UK), NumberNin6 (US), Pixel Fist (UK), Subshock (Spain), and Zardonic (Venezuela). Dieselboy's legacy is one of trailblazing dancefloor devastation non-stop on the international club circuit as well as at major global music festivals including Bonnaroo, Coachella, SXSW, Electric Daisy Carnival, US Virgin Mobile FreeFest, Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Summerfest, Ultra Music Festival, Shambhala (Canada), Global Gathering (UK), Creamfields (Poland), Pirate Station (Russia), Jisan Valley Rock Festival (Korea), and PHAT 09 (New Zealand). He also toured with Moby's Area2 and played metal concerts with Orgy and Disturbed. Dieselboy's DJ career began in northwest Pennsylvania DJing high school dances, and progressed as a University of Pittsburgh student learning to beat-match vinyl live on college radio and playing trance, happy hardcore and breaks at house parties. His 1994 mixtape "The Future Sound of Hardcore" led to out of town bookings and his ensuing popularity and skills led to the honor of being the first American asked by a British drum 'n' bass label to mix a compilation ("Drum & Bass Selection USA," 1996). In 1997 Dieselboy moved to Philadelphia becoming drum 'n' bass buyer and T-shirt designer for seminal rave culture/record store 611. In 1998 Dieselboy was the first American drum 'n' bass DJ to be nominated for Best Drum & Bass DJ at the Global DJ Mix Awards and tied with LTJ Bukem. From 1998 to 2004 Dieselboy hosted North America's premiere drum 'n' bass weekly "Platinum" at Fluid. A passionate connoisseur of food, books and film, Dieselboy has continuously raised the bar for mixtapes and mixed CD compilations as art forms, and each from 1992 to his February 2012 tour de force "Wake The Dead" stands the test of time. State of the art showcases of producers and graphic artists of each respective era, Dieselboy's mixes have been described as "cinematic" and "intoxicating." Dieselboy's goal in creating "Wake The Dead" was "to make the most intricate, layered, nuanced, amazing drum 'n' bass mix ever done. Period." In its dramatic intro (a Dieselboy signature) thenarrator describes a soul-crushing epidemic of epic proportions – a thinly veiled reference to the death of the art of DJing – a theme that has resonated amongst his DJ/producer colleagues and fans and beyond. An inspiration for generations of DJs, Dieselboy's longevity and relevance in a mercurial industry is a tribute to his relentless drive to create "amazing" experiences for his fans in their iPods and at his legendary live shows. Dieselboy fans praise his skills as "genius." Says The Destroyer: "I don't fuck around." WHAT THE FANS SAY: I have to say that your music has been influential for a lot of people you may never see at your shows. I know 2 recon marines, firefighters, [and] a few professional mountaineers that use your music as a performance enhancing substance. I have found your music to help when physical performance and danger of severe injury or death are coupled. Not your average club goers but loyal for sure. Thanks for the inspiration. – Ryan Nelson, Fort Collins, CO I've been listening to you since my sophomore year of high school in '99. I've bought every album and even snagged a few t-shirts along the way. Your music has enhanced my life WAY beyond the realm of a bunch of 20 dollar bills. And now that we've moved into the digital age you're putting out FREE mixes on the regular? Fuggetaboutit. I feel terrible that I don't have much to offer other than my eternal gratitude for being there through my bad times and good times with your music that helped define me as a young adult and then into adulthood. I wish I could buy you like a giant gold something just to show my gratitude. Thank you kind sir for your years of awesome music. If we ever get close enough to meet the drinks are on me. Why am I writing this now? As I was walking to the gym last night I realized that I've been listening to you for 13 years. But it seems like a blink of an eye. Your mixtapes, your CD's, your digital mixes don't get stale to me and I just thought it appropriate to let you know that I am really, truly, from the heart appreciative of your musical talent. Thanks again. – David Downlo You are the soundtrack to many many MANY of the happiest times in my life. Just wanted to say thanx. – Donnie Boden, Pittsburgh, PA

    ETC!ETC!

    Gent & Jawns
Gent and Jawns is what happens when two buds, Billy the Gent and Long Jawns combine forces and create club devastation. Their first release was arguably one of the most played and most sweated to moombahton tracks in existence, "Vibrate". Now they have a new EP with us "Holler", it's a Moombahton hard hitter with a touch of New Orleans bounce that has seen support all over the moombah world. Now packed with mind melting remixes from Valentino Khan and Heartbreak it definitely a problem. We also see a huge b-side with this package, Gent and Jawns try their hand at 128 beats per minute and the result is the floor ready "Bugoff". Sidechain heavy production with throaty synths, think Toadally Krossed Out but insects instead of Amphibians at the wheels.

There's a big sound coming out of Miami. It's a loud, in your face sound with a hip-hop lean and sometimes a tropical vibe. It's dirty, sexy and full of hype, and it's called GTA. Matt Toth and Julio Mejia make up the dynamic duo. Dedicated to their music, they stay holed up in their bedroom studio building beats that can set off any kind of dance floor. They're stealing the stage from their hood to New York, LA and everything in between, and it just comes down to how they play their game. Producers without borders, their catalogue of sounds span the gamut without limitations. They'll experiment with trap music, house, moombahton, funky electro, booty bass, salsa, big room, anything they can put their flavor on. With "Death to Genres" as their battle cry, their mission is to set the room on fire and get all the asses clapping, every time. GTA's future sound has them sought after some of the biggest names in the dance music game. They've had releases on Diplo's Mad Decent, Ladback Luke's Mixmash and A-Trak's Fool's Gold Records. They've remixed various artists from all genres, including Michael Woods, Trinidad James, Deadmau5, Wolfgang Gartner, Clockwork, Laidback Luke and A-Trak. Armed with endless creativity, a tireless work ethic and a fierce dedication to their craft, GTA are carving their name into the minds of dance floors freaks everywhere, and you can count on them to deliver the goods, each and every time. Heroes X Villains
"We're only interested in making music you can fight or strip to…" Daniel Disaster and Pete Heartless, production duo behind Heroes x Villains, begin as two punk kids from the depths of the Dirty South, notorious for blowing speakers during their chaotic DJ sets as teenagers. The pair remain creatively connected, despite divergent lifestyles: Heartless maintains a quiet, relatively normal life while Disaster seems content to exist with his feet dangling ever so slightly over the edge. He spends several years behind the boards at Grand Hustle Records as an engineer working alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake, Lil' Wayne, T.I. and Young Jeezy. Armed with this experience, roots in punk/hardcore and an appreciation for Southern rap music, Heroes x Villains start their ascent with warbling, bass heavy, electronic dance music remixes of Waka Flocka Flame's 'Oh Let's Do It' and Gucci Mane's 'Lemonade'. These, a remix of Lil' Jon and Diplo's 'U Don't Like Me' and several others make up 'We Off That,' their first mixtape which garners critical acclaim. Less speakers burst into flames these days but Heroes x Villains DJ sets remain as caustic as ever. Stage diving and raucous mosh pits are regular occurrences; champagne spraying in every direction and half naked women moving in ways their parents wouldn't likely approve of come standard. The raw, occult like energy and track selection is a manifestation of how Disaster and fans of Heroes x Villains choose to live: shameless, unrepentant, maximalist hedonism. Heroes x Villains barreled into 2012 as diverse and dangerous as ever. Beginning in early January, they introduced the weekly 'BLXRRD OXT' series, manipulating records like Young Jeezy's ode to intoxication 'WXY 2 GXNE' and England's dark pop princess Charlie XCX 'NUXLEAR SEAXONX' into soundtracks for a haunting, drug-addled haze. And in February, showcasing the two year progression of Southern rap music fusing with electronic dance elements, comes rising Atlanta rap group FKi's mixtape 'Transformers In The Hood' produced by Diplo, Heroes x Villains and Atlanta EDM producer Mayhem. With genre-bending, rule breaking unpredictability as their calling card, it's pointless to attempt to figure out what Heroes x Villains may do next… best to just sign the waiver and enjoy the ride.

    Hopsin

It would probably be easier if we told you what Hopsin doesn't do, but Hop is an MC, producer, director, actor, and editor. And his journey has been anything but painless. Like many kids, Hopsin wanted to be "cool". But as hard as he tried, he never graduated past being that "weird black kid" that rode around on a skateboard. He tried to get attention by making people laugh, but he always ended up being the butt of the joke. He wrote songs for girls to get them to like him, but got no love. Stuck in special education classes, Hopsin did not see much of a future. His teachers did nothing but reinforce the feelings that he wouldn't amount to anything; especially if he continued to waste his time attending classes where nothing was actually being taught. So with no money and only a few real friends, Hopsin dropped out of school in 2004. Despite the lack of support from anyone but himself, Hopsin knew that his raw talent to rhyme would one day allow him to spit in the face of all of his critics. In the meantime, however, he had to find a way to make money. He thought his goofiness would translate to an acting career so he auditioned for several roles. The only role that he was ever able to obtain was as a "day player" on Disney's That's So Raven. He thought things were looking up from there, but nothing seemed to come through after that. Still determined to be one of Southern Cali's premier MCs he bought an microphone from Wal-Mart, installed Fruity Loops on his computer, and locked himself in the basement. Not only did he spend countless hours perfecting his own craft, he also studied the careers of artists to better understand what has made them successful. As time went by he knew that his lyrics and production had surpassed what he was hearing on the radio. He combined his skills with a new image [often seen wearing white contacts] and emerged from the basement as a complete artist. In 2007, Hopsin signed a major record deal with Ruthless Records. Hopsin gets his inspiration from all types of music, from 50 Cent & Alicia Keyes to the All American Rejects. His creativity and raw energy come from all the people in his life that have told him that he didn't have a future. At times his lyrics can be dark and grimy, but they only reflect all of the negativity that he has had to endure in order to get to where he is today. Hopsin founded Funk Volume to share his story, spread his message, and display his many talents. He has been on a long journey to hone his skills, and to get comfortable being who he is. Now that he has the confidence there is no one and nothing that can stop him. He has come too far and been through too much. Funk Volume represents what has made Hopsin successful…real pain, real passion, real music.

    Lucky Date

Hailing from San Francisco California and now living in Chicago Illinois, 20 year old DJ/Producer Lucky Date (Jordan Atkins-Loria) has steadily been making a place for himself in the world of electro. He has officially remixed The Crystal Castles, Greenskeepers, Richard Vission, Trash Yourself, Alex Kidd USA, Vhs or Beta, Lazy Rich, Frederik Olufsen, Zedd, and many others. Jordan recently became an artist for Big Fish Recordings one of the hottest electro labels in the world. Although most of his tracks are bassified aggressive electro he also produces Progressive House, Tech House, Dutch House, and Dubstep. Jordan also works as a synth engineer providing the sounds behind some of the worlds biggest names including David Guetta. In the last year Jordan has produced over 30 tracks and has no intention of slowing down.

    Nadastrom

When the beat drops at a Nadastrom show, you better have your hands up. Dave Nada is known to stage dive while his DJ partner Matt Nordstrom squeezes the duo's most riotous beats through the speakers. It's a reminder Nadastrom aren't just pushing 21st century dance music toward the edge – they're jumping off it. The D.C.-born, L.A.-based duo of DJ-producers come from different backgrounds, but share a ravenous appetite for extremes. As the prime architects of Moombahton – a sound Nada invented on the fly at a basement party by slowing Dutch house music down to the tempo of reggaeton – the duo have been praised in the pages of Spin and Rolling Stone, pumped on the airwaves of BBC Radio 1 and NPR, and revered at nightclubs and festivals across the planet. Nada was born in Maryland, a first generation Ecuadorian-American surrounded by five brothers and the sounds of cumbia, Ecuadorian folk, salsa, merengue and reggaeton. As a teen, he gravitated toward Washington's legendary hardcore punk scene, playing in bands while learning to DJ on college radio. A move to Baltimore landed Nada in the second surge of Baltimore club music, where he DJed alongside club icons K-Swift, Rod Lee and DJ Technics, while producing acclaimed club tracks of his own. Nordstrom grew up in Virginia on the other side of the Washington beltway where skateboarding provided a contact point with punk, metal and hip-hop. In the late '90s, he swapped the skateboard for turntables and switched his college major from psychology to audio engineering. Soon, Nordstrom was the resident engineer for esteemed D.C. house heroes Deep Dish and piloting recording sessions with the likes of Stevie Nicks and P. Diddy, even scoring a Grammy nod along the way. When Nada and Nordstrom came together in 2007, the chemistry was instant and the music was colossal. The group signed to Switch's Dubsided label where their debut debut EP, "Pussy," immediately topped the charts on Beatport. Since then, Nadastrom have produced tracks for a slew of artists, including Kid Sister, and have done remixes for Kid Cudi, Benny Benassi, Christina Aguilera, Waka Flocka Flame, the Death Set and Alex Clare. In 2010, the duo relocated from Washington to Los Angeles and hit the road, performing at the biggest festivals in dance music, including Australia's Creamfields festival with Deadmau5, the Disco Biscuits' Camp Bisco festival, Bass Island with Bassnectar, the Mad Decent Block Party with Major Lazer and the HARD Festival in Los Angeles with Ducksauce, Chromeo, BoysNoize and Odd Future. Last fall, Nadastrom joined Skrillex and 12th Planet for more than 50 nights on the hotly anticipated Mothership Tour. Meantime, Moombahton has become a movement of its own, with Nadastrom serving as the genre's leading ambassadors. Diplo's Mad Decent label dropped the acclaimed compilation "Dave Nada presents Blow Your Head Vol. 2: Moombahton" in May and Scion released Nadastrom's Moombahton EP "El Baile Diabluma" this fall. "There are never any rules," says Nada of the duo's approach. "And Moombahton helped us realize that even more.

    Papadosio

The information age has a sound. Revolutionary technology meets a revolutionary message in Papadosio. Melding progressive rock with psychedelia, folk with electronica, and dance music with jam, the quintet has amassed a dedicated following of thousands of likeminded individuals sewing the seeds of unity and spreading the sounds of exultation. Singer-songwriter Anthony Thogmartin's visionary lyrics, eclectic production, and signature guitar work are anchored by the rock solid battery of drummer Mike Healy and bassist Rob McConnell. The quintet is rounded out by brothers Billy and Sam Brouse, whose virtuosic two-headed keyboard, synth, and programming attack give the band its unmistakable complexity and intensity. Born in the burgeoning, artistic city of Athens, OH, the quintet now calls another creative community, Asheville, NC its home. Little time is spent nestled up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, though, as Papadosio spends much of the year on the road, crisscrossing the United States ceaselessly. In addition to headlining shows in every region of the country, their high-energy, technologically perplexing, and utterly engaging stage show has made the five-piece a staple on the festival circuit, with scene-stealing sets at Summer Camp, Wakarusa, Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, Bear Creek, and their own annual event, Rootwire, an inspirational confluence of music, art, science, and spirituality. With more than 100 performances a year, the band remains prolific by passing the endless miles between cities composing new material. The culmination of all that writing on the road is TETIOS. The follow-up to 2009's critically acclaimed Observations finally arrived in the fall of 2012. To End the Illusion of Separation is a sprawling double album, signaling not only an evolution of the band's sound, but a paradigm shift on a far greater scale. The album is a call for people of all stripes to reject artificial barriers of wealth, class, and creed and come together under the flag of humanity. Themes of conservation, tolerance, and mind-expansion delicately weave their way around tribal rhythms, psychedelic excursions, and soaring melodies. The fusion of the earthly, the organic, with technological innovations and progressive sonic structure plants Papadosio's roots firmly in the past and present with an eye turned towards the horizon.

Paper Diamond is known for making many different kinds of music. Since the project's inception in January of 2011, PD has found himself on a globetrotting, music making escapade, with non-stop shows, festival plays, and around the clock studio sessions. The Paper Diamond sound has raw energy and the kind of dramatic anticipation only a seasoned producer can incite. With one EP and a handful of notable remixes under his belt, PD has been secretly amassing over 100 original songs/beats/instrumentals and is currently working with artists, singers, rappers, and MCs all over the country. Tittsworth

Whether deck or dinner plate, Jesse Tittsworth's insatiable hunger questionably devours whatever is put in front of him. His food preferences veer past strange: his favorite meal is live octopus. His appetite was just as fierce in 2004, when the Chinese-American carnivore from Washington D.C. almost immediately leap-frogged from local favorite to international DJ headliner. Once established as a DJ, Tittsworth immediately began to dig into his next course as a producer. With his remixes on Radio One and in influential Top 10 lists, soon the growl for original material couldn't be ignored; in 2008 his debut album 12 Steps on Plant Music was released to critical acclaim by Billboard, DJ Mag, and URB. More original material is bubbling in 2011 with the release of the 2 Strokes Raw EP (Plant Music). Tittsworth as musician is one type of meat, Tittsworth as entrepreneur is another. In 2006 Tittsworth established his own label with DJ Ayres: T&A Records. In 2010 he became a co-owner of U Street Music Hall, a world-class night club with an ever-present line for sold-out shows. 2011 offered a new signature dish: the launch of Tittsworth.com, a first-look lifestyle site featuring music, food, tattoos, humor, and the macabre.

    Borgore

He started producing Dubstep in 2007, and with very little recognition from the then niche Dubstep audience, Borgore quickly established himself with his unique sound and style. He quickly started to fly around the world from gig to gig, shortly realising every performance was having a huge impact. Borgore quickly developed unique characteristics to his performance, whether crowd surfing, or mosh pitting with the ravers, Borgore brought over his years of experience in a band to the Dubstep stage. Since the explosion of his sound and the Dubstep genre, Borgore has risen to be one of Dance musics biggest stars. Whether touring in Europe, North America, Australia or even New Zealand, Borgore had sold out at the box office over and over again where ever he goes. With over 6 millions views on Youtube, a vast fan base on social networks such as Facebook or being featured on soundtracks for TV shows such as 'Skins'. He now runs his own record label 'Buygore' and had featured releases and remixes for many well known international artists. Borgore goes from strength to strength and has only just scratched the surface.

    Crookers

Phra and Bot aka Crookers, The first born and raised in Omegna, a picturesque town of Lake Orta, the second in Milan. Together they are the young italian duo who, for some years now, have been travelling on and on in every continent known to man, setting dance floors and millions of people's eardrums on fire. Let's take a step backward: In 2007 the first overpowering mixtape signed Crookers emerges from the lake's darkness: A deep house and rap based experiment that brakes every sound barrier, slipping into genius. This first challenge doesn't pass unnoticed and throws the duo out to an endless series of guesting in the best italian and european underground clubs. From the beginning, their style is characterized by an apparently impossibile but fully functional musical constellation: street style, rap, house, fidget and trance. In 2008 Crookers' range choice goes off with "Day 'n' Nite", a remix of, at the time unknown, Kid Cudi. The hit enters the U.K. charts at 2# (giving way to Lady Gaga) and guarantees Crookers a place in world's dance Hall of Fame. They are asked to remix for Armand Van Helden and Chemical Brothers, who state, "The Italians are something to look out for". Praises from Black Eyed Peas' Will I Am and Norman Cook, otherwise known as Fat Boy Slim, will soon be added to those of the two londoner fake brothers. Hereafter it's a non stop rising. Interscopes Jimmy Iovine (on his son's request, a fierce fan of the duo) asks them to remix U2, followed by Britney Spears and Lady Gaga & Beyonce who just want Crookers to lay a hand on "Telephone". Finally in 2010 the album, "Tons of Friends". As the title recites it summons up Crookers' friends: Kelis, Wil I Am, Roisin Murphy, Soul Wax, Major Lazer, Sepultura's Igor Cavalera, Rye Rye and many others. Once again Crookers mix at every musical latitude passing through house, dubstep, reggae, rap and melodic grime. "Tons of Friends" takes rap and centrifuges it with Crookers's distinctive filter, achieving to hit both american hip-hop standard-educated ears and those looking for a cutting-edge and electronic sound (i.e. the dubstep track sang by Kelis). To quote Rye Rye herself in "Hip Hop Changed": They say hip hop changed, but you know we still talk that language / it's just another twist in the shit that we bring / hip hop saved my life so I framed it. Crookers make no compromises but can carry away the most popular names of today's musical landscape to the dephts of the underground sound. This way they clear "the eternal fight between commercial music and making sense music" (Marcus Downling – TGRI, Mishka Blogin). 20 tracks, 25 guests. Crookers do have tons of friends.

    NERO

NERO have become a big name in both the Drum and Bass and Dubstep scenes, often fusing both styles of music in their DJ sets. They started with DnB, joining DJ SS's Formation Records in the Summer of 2004. Since then Dan and Joe's tracks have caused quite a stir, gaining huge support from DJs like Andy C, Grooverider and Friction, as well as radio airplay from Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank, Steve Lamacq and Fabio & Grooverider, to name just a few. In June 2006 Nero released their acclaimed EP, "Requiem EP" on Formation Records. The EP featured 4 top tracks, Requiem, Bitch I'm Gone, Autopsy and Bad For the Brain. High Contrast included Bitch I'm Gone in his mix for the legendary Fabric Live series, Fabric Live 25. 2009 saw Nero's first release on iconic label Breakbeat Kaos. The killer track 'Act Like You Know', backed with Sound in Motion and a dubstep edit of the title track, has been hitting dancefloors across the world for the last year and was picked up by Fresh and Adam F. Onto Dubstep…. Nero's debut dubstep release, 'This Way', became one of the biggest dubstep tunes of 2008 and is still selling big units across the world. Since then, Nero's consistent releases have made them one of the most talked about acts in dubstep. Designer Drugs

The New York duo of Michael Vincent Patrick and Theodore Paul Nelson have come a long way since dropping their 2011 Ultra Records debut full-length, Hardcore/Softcore. In that time period, they played countless shows all over the world, did numerous remixes, carved out a rabid following that stretched from Asia to Europe, and Theo even graduated with a Doctorate from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine—"number one in the country for student debt," as he fondly puts it. Most people never get the chance to even set foot in six of the seven continents, but these boys performed to fervent audiences everywhere except Antarctica, which is too cold anyway for EDM. However, something didn't feel right. That's par for the course with Designer Drugs though. They've become veritable staples in the scene, racking up nearly 100 official remixes for everyone from Mariah Carey and Little Boots to Annie and Thieves Like Us. In addition, they've performed over 500 shows at this point. Making a strong digital imprint, they also garnered over 144k Facebook fans and over 2.3 million YouTube views. Plus, they've got their sights on crisscrossing the planet yet again on another massive tour cycle.

    emancipator

To some, it must seem like this young electronic producer came out of nowhere this year, but those in the know have been following Emancipator since he self-released his first album, "Soon It Will Be Cold Enough," at the age of 19 in 2006. His agile melodies layered over headnodic, immaculately-produced beats captivated fans across the internet and across the world. "Soon It Will Be Cold Enough" was picked up by Japanese super-producer Nujabes, pressed in Japan and sold 5,000 copies in the first six months. Emancipator landed a Puma sponsorship, gave an interview to Rolling Stone Japan, and even had his song "Maps" played at the Beijing Olympics. His latest album "Safe In The Steep Cliffs" blends new instrumentation and organic samples with the signature Emancipator style of clean production, silky melodies and addictive drums. Dense layers of choirs, horns, American folk instruments such as the banjo and mandolin, violin and some distinct Asian influences make for a playful but refined album built out of intricate tracks listeners can enjoy on as many levels as they want. Dance to it, chill out to it, immerse your mind in it.

    Icicle

Jeroen Snik – aka Icicle – is recognised as one of the most technically advanced and highly-respected producers in electronic music. Mastering tech-funk better than any other, Icicle's music is graceful yet daring and, without doubt, technically remarkable, tinged with intricate drum patterns reminiscent of Photek and entrancing, enveloping bass-lines à la Jonny L and Optical. After commanding the attention of the masses with releases on labels such as Shogun Audio, Soul:R, Renegade Hardware and Critical, Icicle made the move from Holland to London in 2008, and now officially reps Shogun Audio. 'Spartan', Icicle's debut on Shogun, broke a musical mould and securely positioned his elaborate engineering skills on the proverbial map. With bookings in abundance all over the world, Mr Freeze's sound ventures have kept the listeners anticipating eagerly his every release prompting a dangerously frosty EP on Shogun Audio in 2009 – the 'Cold Fear' EP – featuring an ice-cool collaboration 'Driftwood' with tech-pioneers, Noisia. Impressively, Icicle's deep, dark and futuristic dubstep has been fervently received on a global scale and caused groundbreaking responses from the dubstep world, thanks to 'Minimal Dub' b/w 'Xylophobia' released on Shogun Audio in 2010. There really are no constraints to this producer's aptitude – nothing short of astonishing. Even greater news, then, that Icicle's been working on his debut album 'Under The Ice' for Shogun dropping in early 2011. The first release from the LP, 'Dreadnaught' b/w 'Arrows', is a prime expression of Icicle's super-human sonic force. Intelligent drum arrangements and mighty blood-warming bass-lines secure him firmly as one of the most flawless and exceptional electronic producers of his day.

    Mayhem

Chart topping, dance floor rocking, and taste making come naturally to Atlanta based producer, DJ, label executive and promoter Mayhem. With over 15 years in the studio and 13 years on the decks, he has garnered the attention of the heavyweights in every genre of his focus. Rooted heavily in Drum & Bass music, and with a discerning ear, 28 year old Mayhem found himself making big moves from an early age. From releasing records for Andy C, TeeBee, Dieselboy, Noisia, and Black Sun Empire to DJing across the world for massive crowds in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and beyond; he has warranted a reputation for diversity and quality control. Collaborating with and developing artists such as Noisia, Le Castle Vania, Phace, Evol Intent, Sinthetix, Gein and Gridlok amongst many others, his production soared to new heights with "Exodus (featuring the legendary KRS-1)", "Moonway Renegade", and "Choke" with Noisia. Boundless inspiration pushed Mayhem to pursue Dubstep in it's formidable years, immediately signing with the reputable Subway Records, as well as Indie/Electro under the moniker Rrrump. As of late his focus has been brought back to home on the forefront a movement combining southern Rap music with Dubstep collaborating with long time friend Heroes + Villains. His club nights Transit, Fuck Yesss, Heavy, Tambor Y Bajo, Atlanta Dubstep and Haute Mess have helped reshape Atlanta's nightlife. No matter the genre, you are guaranteed a diverse set with attention to detail and a healthy respect for dynamics and balance. This is Mayhem.

    Sidney Samson
As a seven year old boy, Sidney started playing the guitar. From there on he knew that he wanted to make music for the rest of his life. After seeing a couple of DMC mix championships, his interests were going towards dj-ing. He started dj-ing in 1995 at the age of 14. During that time he mainly played RnB and HipHop tunes at local clubs. He switched his style completely into housemusic in 1999 and became the resident DJ of the 'Exxellent' nights at one of Holland's biggest clubs The Matrixx in 2003. His producing skills really took off in that period. His first real club banger was called 'Sidney Samson-It's all funked up!' (Spinnin' Records 2003). After this release, Sidney knew that he couldn't stop here and locked himself up in his studio. 'Nobody Move', 'Rock This', 'Girls', 'Aeroplane' and 'Viruz' were some resulting floor fillers, to name but a few. In 2007, after a few successful collaborations with Gregor Salto, they decided to start a new record label named Samsobeats. On this label, new tracks are released from the hottest new DJ's and producers who showed their talents to the world. Samsobeats wants to set a new feeling instead of a particular sound. That's why you can expect very various tracks, from electro to latin. Every release must have the potential to grow into a floor filler. With the Skitzofrenix he was responsible for the big summer hit 'You don't love me'. This tune is still ripping up the dance floors and was of course released on Samsobeats! Then Sidney was hitting the charts with 'Today', featuring vocals of the talented Joni. This track is showing another side of Sidney and you can even hear him play the guitar in the breaks… And last but not least, you really couldn't have missed it: RIVERSIDE ! In charts all over the world for several weeks and even PLATINUM in Australia; The single would have actually moved from #13 in the National Singles chart, back up to number #10, if it hadn't have been for 8 Michael Jackson records entering the top 20. In the UK, Riverside entered the charts on #2 in January 2010 and has been fully supported by David Guetta, Laidback Luke, Diplo, A-trak, Tiga and Boyz Noize just to mention a few. A lot happened since RIVERSIDE. And even though Sidney now travels around the globe, performing at the biggest festivals and in coolest clubs, he manages to maintain the same 'no nonsense' mentality that brought him this far. Sidney: "I'm grateful for all the doors RIVERSIDE opened for me but I don't intent to keep on riding out its success. I love DJ-ing but I'm a producer first. And now you have seen my RIVERside, I can't wait to show you my other 'sides' (laughs)". And show his other sides he did, that of a great remixer for instance. Some of Sidney's remix productions are yet to come out; others are already rocking the dance floors. From Kylie Minoque's "Get Outta My Way" to Guetta's "Getting Over You" and " Commander", Solveig's "Hello" and Dead Prezz's "Hip Hop", it seems so far that Sidney Samson keeps meeting everyone's anxious expectation. Everyone's, but those who are still waiting for RIVERSIDE, the sequel. Sidney: "As far as my own productions go, I'm learning every day. And I try to add new tricks to my box instead of repeating the same ones over and over again. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But that is the risk I'm willing to take". So what has been cooking in Sidney Samson's kitchen lately? The Punk Ass EP (Panorama) has been his latest release and already fully supported by all the top dj's. A follow up to 'Dama S Salon', a successful collaboration with DJ Gregory (FR) is gonna be released soon. Same goes for his collab with Steve Aoki, Wake up Call. It seems Sidney Samson (which is his real name by the way) is not planning to slow down any time soon

    Skism

2010 saw the mysterious SkisM rapidly cement himself onto the global Dubstep Map. Blasting onto the scene with his now classic debut 'The Blank', SKisM's tracks have since received support from the likes Pendulum, Chase & Status, Scratch Perverts, Rusko, Nero and Plastician to name but a few. He has remixed chart topping Dubstep giants such as Excision & Datsik, as well as putting his inimitable production style on the vocal talents of UK rappers the Foreign Beggars & Envy. Blazing trails through Club Nights all over the world, SKisM's frantic 3 deck DJ Sets are gaining notoriety as fast as his musical output. With upcoming tours of Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Europe & America, SKisM's Dubplates & Mixing skills have secured him a place amongst the busiest DJs of the Dubstep Elite.

    Sabo

"Nobody has that groove like Sabo does – he's the funkiest dude on the planet. He just has a natural funk that DJs and producers strive for their entire careers," Dave Nada, moombahton originator Mention the name Sabo to anyone familiar with the tropical end of EDM and the response will be unanimous: deep, unquestioning respect, tinged with a healthy measure of awe. For the past 15 years, the globetrotting DJ and producer, now based in Los Angeles after moving from his native New York, has set the benchmark for his peers, thanks to his unmistakable signature style: 'Funky music to make you feel good', as he describes it – an irresistible, resonant, Balearic fusion that draws upon house, tropical bass, latin, Brazilian, afrobeat, disco, reggae, cumbia, dub, Miami bass, hip hop, funk and soul. In a glowsticks era when the word 'uplifting' has lost much of its meaning, Sabo's productions, many released via his own Sol*Selectas label, are every bit uplifting as they are finely crafted and timeless. It's led him to performing alongside the likes of Sting, Erykah Badu, Chromeo, Brazilian Girls, and Aloe Blacc, while publications such as Rolling Stone, Spin, Mixmag and The Fader, through to tastemaker sites like XLR8R, Generation Bass and Highsnobiety have all queued up to acknowledge his talents. It has also led him to become a pivotal part of the fast-growing moombahton scene, with the sound's creator, Dave Nada, openly crediting Sabo's experiments with traditional latin cumbia and modern beats for Bersa Discos as a key influence on his Dutch house-reggaeton derived sound. Not only was he a major factor in its inception, Sabo remains one of the biggest influences on its ascent. He's responsible behind many of the genre's key tracks, he's a driving force behind the already legendary Moombahton Massive parties at Washington DC's U Street Music Hall and LA's Vibrate monthly, and as the compiler of the seminal Moombahton Massive EPs, has set the tone for a legion of producers. Sabo's achievements don't even stop there: in 2006 he was named in URB's Next 100, while he has since become a staple on the New York gallery circuit, performing at the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim and the Natural History Museum. High-profile clients such as Puma, Gucci, The Huffington Post and Bloomingdales have also sought Sabo's brand of high-end beats, while influential record labels such as Diplo's Mad Decent and MAN Recordings out of Berlin have commissioned him to remix their artists. He's also had great success as a recording artist for a number of other respected labels, including his own, Sol*Selectas, Nickodemus' Wonderwheel Recordings, nu-cumbia label Bersa Discos and on Irma Records with partner Zeb. In that time he's remixed and collaborated with such artists as Dennis Ferrer, Gregor Salto, Nadastrom, Amadou & Miriam, Balkan Beat Box and Nickodemus. As a DJ his career has included residencies at Turntables on the Hudson, Cielo, Submercer, and Bembe, a two-year stint hosting a monthly Global Beats radio show on New York's 91.5 FM, and a long-term spell managing NYC's legendary record store, Turntable Lab. Add all this up and you begin to see why Sabo is held in awe by everyone who's heard him in action. _________________________________________ Photo cred: Seannie Cameras

Power Design Services (PDS) recently was granted ITAR certification. Since 30% of PDS revenue comes from Government/Military related projects, PDS pursued and received ITAR certification. This will ensure PDS customers that their documents are secured and protected. Tuan Tran (Vice-President) states, ?We want our customers to know that when they send us data, we will make sure all documents are properly stored and protected.? PDS is always striving to keep up with the changing and growing industry.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is a set of United States government regulations that control the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the United States Munitions List. These regulations implement the provisions of the Arms Export Control Act, and are described in Title 22 (Foreign Relations), Chapter I (Department of State), Subchapter M of the Code of Federal Regulations.

The Department of State interprets and enforces ITAR. Its goal is to advance national strategic objectives and U.S. foreign policy via the trade controls.

For practical purposes, ITAR regulations dictate that information and material pertaining to defense and military related technologies may only be shared with US Persons unless approval from the Department of State is received or a special exemption is used. United States companies can face heavy fines if the Department of State discovers they have, without approval or the use of an exemption, exposed non-US-Persons to ITAR-protected products or information such as designs, test data, processes, software code, etc.

We hit up the bank to get cash, because nobody in either La Fortuna or Monteverde wants to be paid in local currency. They all prefer dollars, with a passion. The thing is, the ATMs in La Fortuna don’t have the letters on the keypad like they do in the US. I don’t have the slightest idea what my PIN NUMBER is, I know it as a pneumonic. I use a word, and then just type out whatever number that word works out to. Like LOVE is 5683.

So, I had to lleave the bank, find a pay phone, take this picture, go back to the bank, and finally find out what my PIN number is, and out spat all those lovely dollars.

  10. The Need For Dental Care

    by Frederick

The Need for Dental Care Assistants

    Event on 2013-05-17 07:00:00

Dentistry Assistants are necessary to the field of dentistry. They work hard to make certain all the dental tools are washed properly, patients feel comfortable, and they assist Dentists and Hygienists with dental treatments. In addition, they assist with lab work and are educated in medical crisis procedures. Combined, these duties require individuals who are energized and ready to help others. Dental colleagues much are effective communicators and fast individuals.

The need for dental assistants proceeds to grow. Many people are taking more of awareness in their oral hygiene now than ever before. Since people are living longer, their teeth are requiring more precautionary care as well as dental procedures. Dental technology has also made treatments less painful. As a result more people are willing to go in for dental services. Another area is the market for cosmetic dentistry. People are going to dental facilities to get their teeth whitened and to enhance the shape of their teeth.

Presently there are over 280,000 Dental Assistants currently employed Nationwide. The majority of these Dental Assistant and Affordable Dentist are doing work in dental offices. A little portion works in government agencies, prisons facilities, and physician offices. A lot of Dental Assistants are working in more than one dental office due to the demand for more Dental Assistants. The potential for this occupation is better than most other healthcare fields. It is anticipated that it will be one of the top contenders in growth through 2012.

Now there are many job chances for Dental Assistants in the market currently. This means nearly all Dental Assistants who complete a training program will secure employment immediately. This job market is Nationwide, so moving for employment is a good possibility for those who are interested. In some instances, the employer will aid you with relocation costs.

A large number of individuals select to enter the field of Dental Assistant because of the job market outlook and the rate of pay. On common, Dental care Assistants earn .62 per hour as a new employee without any job experience. The highest noted starting rate worldwide is in New York at .97 per hour. Considering the minimum wage in most states, the starting pay for Dental Assistants is at least twice. That is a great incentive to pursue a career as a Dental Assistant.

Seeking a career as a Dental Assistant can be a perfect career move. It will provide you with the chance to work with people, allow you to explore the dental profession, you will have not difficulty securing employment, and the pay is great. You may also have standard working hours with settled Holidays. Many dental assistants receive discounted or free dental care for themselves and their families. Maintaining all this in perspective, the demand for Dental Assistants is a great motivation to take a look into the career solutions.

To discover out more about Dental Assistant programs in your area, get in touch with you State Dental Board or your local colleges. You can also find great information on such programs via the internet. It is very essential that you make sure any program you are considering is accredited in your state. Normal visits to the dentist can keep your teeth, mouth and gums healthy. A few people think that dental work is rather of a luxury and that it can be put off. This is a wrong assumption. A well cared for mouth is a vital part of whole body wellness. A general dentist can fetch the total cost of the dealings much down and is much sought after. Care should be taken though that affordable dentists should only be inexpensive as far as the price tag is concerned and not in services and quality of equipment. Consequently, before approaching any of these affordable dentists make it a point to check the credentials and the understanding of the physician.

Week One – 6/3/13 - 8:30 to 1:00Ignite Your Inner Fire Download Sample

Each week consists of a three hour seminar, one guide and a series of assignments to complete during the week. Week one is focused on motivation. Extended unemployment can erode ones confidence and morale. Restoring one's belief is essential prior to searching for employment. During this step, program participants complete eight exercises that produces for each person a revived feeling of energy, enthusiasm and motivation. the Hidden Step series.

Week Two – 6/10/13 - 8:30 to 1:00 | Identify Your Career Path Download Sample

Week two focuses on the career path (step two) and the phone interview (step three). Applying for jobs prior to clearly defining the career path is like driving in a car without a destination. 94% of applicants polled at a recent job fair were unsure about the right career path. Yet, resumes are forwarded to employers hoping for the best and without a clear direction. This step creates clarity, a sense of direction and the knowledge to pursue the right employers.

Step three prepares the applicant for the phone interview. Just 10 years ago the phone interview did not exist. Today it is used as a fast and inexpensive tool to screen out applicants. An unprepared applicant can be eliminated from the process, even if he or she has a stellar resume. Many well qualified applicants are eliminated at this step when they find themselves ill prepared to handle the call. Guide three ensures that the applicant is equipped with the knowledge to turn every phone interview into a face-to-face meeting.

    Week Three – 6/17/13 - 8:30 to 1:00 | Step Four – Prepare Your Resume Download Sample

Week three initiates the step to create the promotions material to include the resume. During this week, program participants prepare their online marketing material. This includes social media marketing information and their online & in-person resumes. Program participants learn to package their skills according to their strengths and to focus on areas employers' value.

    Week Four – 6/24/13 - 8:30 to 1:00

Week four focuses on completing the online marketing resumes for each applicant and initiates the process of applying online. Program participants learn to use their newly created resumes to apply for jobs online. During this week, program participants also start preparing for the in-person interviews.

    Week Five – 7/1/13 - 8:30 to 1:00

Week five concludes the resume building process, and continues the interview techniques sessions both in-person and on the phone.

    Week Six – 7/8/13 - 8:30 to 1:00

Week six completes the process and initiates a comprehensive networking training. This segment includes strategies on both online and in-person networking tactics to help program participants connect with employers in their areas. During this week, we schedule the graduation date where program participants receive their graduation certificates and are assigned to a career coach who will help facilitate the interview process for the graduates.

    Meet with employers

Graduates from this program meet with employers who have agreed to interview them for a position. Employers choose applicants possessing the skills they need and have the option to hire qualified applicants directly from this program or to try-out the graduates as interns.

    Why this workshop?

Most job seekers are highly skilled in their area of expertise. An accountant knows accounting as a salesperson knows how to sell. Yet, the average job seeker is not an expert when it comes to looking for employment. Rules change frequently and the employment landscape moves constantly. NEC career coaches are experts at their field of expertise and at this workshop familarize participants with proven strategies that lead to immediate employment. Job seekers regard us as the best at what we do. But do not believe what you read, experience it for yourself.

    What is this workshop?

Most applicants today possess limited knowledge on where and how to apply for jobs. Rules change rapidly and skilled professionals find themselves trying every strategy possible yet remaining unemployed. Finding employment today is easy and immediate when the right skills are matched with employers looking for them.

    Knowledge that leads to employment

Applicants unaware that finding employment today is no longer a two-step process, continue submitting resumes while patiently waiting for a response. Today creating a resume (step one), and applying online for jobs using that resume (step two), does not lead to immediate employment. These steps are outdated and only blend the average applicant with thousands of others following the same two steps.

    Employers looking for your skills

The challenge of unemployment today is not one of lacking jobs, but one of mis-communication. More than 500,000 jobs were posted online last week | Click here to start searching. There are plenty of jobs, yet resumes forwarded containing conflicting information about an applicants skillsets can delay the employers' response. Being considered as overqualified, under-qualified, or not qualified all result from a resume containing too much, not enough, or the wrong information. This workshop shows applicants to communicate their skills so clearly, employers looking for those skills can quickly find them.  How does it work?

Within three hours, applicants prepare to meet with employers and secure their new job. At the conclusion of this workshop, applicants acquire the knowledge to identify the correct career path, create an effective resume and may qualify to be matched (by an NEC Career Coach) with employers hiring for their skills.

    What is included?

    The workshop includes:

    • Copies one, two and three of the Hidden Step series (Electronic copies)
    • A Job Search Assistant who will be your guide through steps one, two & three.
    • Referrals to employers in your area

  15. Interested In Learning About The

    by Frederick

All the advice here, from the simplest tip to the most complicated, has been written with you in mind. Our goal is to help you make the most profit possible, with the least amount of risk. All of these tips should assist you in building a strong strategy, which will do just that.

Do not blindly follow the recommendations of your investment broker without doing some due diligence of your own. Ensure that the investment is registered with the SEC and find some background information on the way that the investment has performed in the past. There have been instances of fraud whereby the information presented by the broker was fabricated.

Pay less attention to the various market voices that are trying to bombard you with data on price points. This will allow you to gain more information on the performance of the companies you currently invest in or plan to invest in, giving you the chance to make smarter decisions.

Educate yourself about basic accounting principles, the history of the market, and how to read and understand annual reports. While you don’t need to be a professional accountant to participate in the market, this kind of knowledge will help you make the smartest investment decisions, based on your goals for investing.

Know the risks of different types of investments. Stocks are generally riskier than bonds, for instance. Riskier investments, generally, have higher payoff potentials, while less risky vehicles tend to provide lower, more consistent returns. Understanding the differences between different vehicles can allow you to make the best decisions about what to do with your money, in both the short and long terms.

If you are investing in a stock, be aware of potential changes and prepare for them. The stock market is like a roller coaster, always going up and down, and it is crucial that you are prepared for this to happen. If you feel like you need to know more about these changes, do your research on the Internet.

When considering company stocks to invest in, consider any past negative surprises. Similar to the idea that one pest is typically indicative of more pests in your home, one blemish on the company record typically indicates more in the future. Choose businesses with the best reputations to avoid losing money on your stocks.

Save money by trading online. Search online for firms that offer cheap stock trading. Quite often, their fees are much lower than traditional brokerage firms. A regular broker will usually charge a high commission, just to make a simple stock trade on your behalf. If possible, try to pay between and per trade.

Adjust your margin of safety based on the reputation, profitability, and size of a particular company. While businesses like Google or Johnson

Try purchasing some reliable investment management software to use when you invest. They are completely affordable these days, as is a high-speed internet connection. You don’t need to spend your time and efforts trying to come up with the best ways to invest when there are programs out there that can help.

An online broker can be an excellent option if you are ready to handle your investment research yourself. Online brokers cost much less than regular brokers, so if you are comfortable doing your own research, give online trading a shot. You want to spend the least amount of money in order to make money.

To increase your profits in the stock market, create a sensible plan and avoid picking your stocks emotionally. The benefit of developing a strategy that you can use to guide your stock choices will make it less like that you will make an emotional buy. Acting on a hot tip with out doing research is a dangerous way to invest.

Be prepared for the long haul. Serious and successful traders consider a stock’s long-term possibilities in both bull and bear markets. Patience is an absolute must if you are going to be able to resist the urge to part with stocks prematurely. If you panic-sell a stock and it rises higher, you’re only going to be sorry.

An early decision you must make is how you want to access to the stock market. If you want to be a passive trader and leave the management to an industry professional, mutual funds are good options that provide automatic portfolio diversficiation. If you are more of a do-it-yourselfer, then picking and trading your own stocks is possible too. Splitting your investment between both is a choice that some do as well.

If you are new to investing, work with a broker. These professionals have years of experience and insider knowledge that allows them to steer you and your money, in the proper direction. A good broker will help you build a solid portfolio that meets your needs, whether short-term or long-term.

It takes money to make money. You need income from somewhere other than the stock market in order to have money to invest in the stock market. Even that should not start until you have six or twelve months of money outside the market. Once you do get into the market, do not live off your returns. Reinvest them to harness the power of compounding.

Think small to grow big. If your aim is growing your money substantially over the years, aim for smaller and medium-sized companies that have serious growth potential. A retail chain with a superstore in every neighborhood, might be a safe place to park and keep your investment at its current value, but in order for it to have growth, the growth would have to outmatch a Fortune 500 company. A small firm can double in size and still have plenty of potential market.

Hopefully, you’ve understood everything written here and can assimilate these tips into your current investing strategy. Whether you’re just starting out or just want to do better, these tips should enhance your current ideas and lead you down the road to success. Whatever your goals are, continue to reach for the stars.

  16. Ddos Alert Taiwan And The

    by Frederick

    May 17, 2013

On May 9, the Philippine Coast Guard shot and killed Taiwanese fisherman Hung Shih-Cheng in disputed waters. Taiwanese hackers quickly launched cyber attacks as a show of protest, successfully defacing and disrupting service for more than a dozen Philippine government websites. Philippine hackers retaliated by taking down the websites of several Taiwan government agencies. As of today, more than two thousand websites have been affected.

DDoS attacks are nothing new, but they have become increasingly sophisticated and accessible in recent years. Newer tools being developed have become easier to use, openning the doors for script kiddies to launch attacks without enduring a steep learning curve. Even the general public can become accomplices of a DDoS attack, with the attacker providing a simple link for anyone to click on. In this event, ?hacktivists? launched attacks to protest the situation on behalf of their countries, defacing and taking down ?enemy? websites to express their anger. These attacks are difficult to defend against, and because these are unplanned and unpredictable events, it does not make economic sense for every organization to maintain its own professional anti-DDoS team?which is why organizations should consult third-party security service providers.

Most government agencies and corporations do not have the resources to build and maintain a team of Internet security professionals that are on the watch 24/7. When it comes to defending against DDoS attacks, it makes more sense to subscribe to professional anti-DDoS services that can immediately mitigate attacks by routing traffic through the provider’s network traffic scrubbing centers.

Nexusguard recommends government agencies, corporations and other organizations to immediately contact them when hit by a DDoS attack?as an industry-leading anti-DDoS service provider, Nexusguard provides timely consultation on what emergency measures to take and effectively responds to an attack within hours.

    Are You Being Attacked?

Internet security providers can quickly deduce how an attack is being executed, provided that they have sufficient information to analyze. Nexusguard security researcher Frank Tse advises that organizations should always understand its network infrastructure. In general, this helps third-party security providers accelerate the process of isolating the compromised system and resolving service disruption.

    What Should You Do?

    1. Determine: How many servers are being used? How much bandwidth do you have? How are routers placed and configured?

    2. Diagnose: Is the DNS server or router down? Are only the websites affected?

    3. Collaborate: This information helps Internet security providers to determine the vulnerabilities exploited in this attack and identify possible targets. Anti-DDoS service providers can then propose solutions to mitigate the attack. After the attack has been alleviated, organizations should work with Internet security providers to plan a long-term solution that prepares them for possible future attacks.

According to Tse, the quickest way to mitigate an attack is by DNS redirection to a DDoS protected Proxy.” In theory, it would take as little as several minutes to no more than a few hours to reroute all the traffic.” Shiela Rosario, the Philippines Sales Manager, agrees that an organization’s network traffic can be routed through Nexusguard’s mitigation almost immediately after proper configuration.

Rednek, is fast becoming a legend in the world of Bass music. Raised by a Jamaican family in Hackney London, Rednek grew up displaying exceptional musical talent, which helped rocket him to the success that he orbits today.
In May 2011, Rednek decided to become his own artist (after years in the studio producing and writing for other artists' hits) and knew immediately how to execute his plan of action. He charged into the Dubstep scene by writing and directing his own videos which made a great impact on the television networks. His official debut music video came out displaying the guidelines of "How to become a Dubstep artist in one month". Recently Rednek’s track called “They Call Me” is the official song for the game PES 2013. Rednek has immediately become the talk of the industry. What sets Rednek apart from other artists is that he performs his own vocals live, proving to the world that he is in fact an actual artist who excels at delivering impressive live performances as well as top notch productions.  What Rednek had proven in the studio, he takes taking to crowds all around the world spawning an ever growing fan base along the way. Rednek is not just another DJ, he is a legitimate Rockstar!  Rednek's highly anticipated debut album called “One Year Later” dropped in June 2012 and with more huge projects on the horizon and a world tour already in place, Rednek is looking to be an unstoppable force! www.rednek.co.uk // http://app.rednek.co.uk/ //www.twitter.com/officialrednek http://soundcloud.com/theofficialrednek //href=”http://www.facebook.com/officialrednek” rel=”nofollow”>www.facebook.com/officialrednek

    :::DOUGHBOY::::

It all started at midnight on New Years Eve of 1992 in a hole in the wall skating rink. Damien Tucker aka DaddyDough (formerly Doughboy) had been a silent lover of electronic based music for years. When the clock struck 12 his life was changed forever. DaddyDough began his DJ career with old classics, hip hop, and booty shaking tunes. By 1996 Dough had landed regular residencies at several of the hottest electronic clubs in Atlanta. Under the name EchoLabSoundSystem, Quirk and Dough have been ripping it up in the house realm, while DaddyDough stays true to his roots on solo events, bringing the best in Drum and Bass and his new guilty pleasure, Dubstep. DaddyDough is sure to educate the masses on how it was done back in the day and influence some of the up and coming artists and DJ's on how a true professional works behind the decks to always keep the dance floor moving each time he plays. 22. How To Access All Your

    by Frederick

If you have been dreaming of your own iPad then you surely want to inform yourself as much as possible. This article is perfect for new owners or experienced owners alike. Keep reading to get the best tips and advice about maximizing your personal or professional iPad experience right here.

Wait until your battery is low before you begin to charge your iPad. Batteries have something referred to as memory. If you charge the battery too early, it’s memory will then record a smaller life, and this can occur repeatedly, leading to the device needing to be on the charger to be used.

If you haven’t ever had a tablet before, you may be overwhelmed. The iPad is incredibly user friendly and almost impossible to screw up. Just start playing with it and see how much you can figure out alone. Even the most computer inept should be able to handle an iPad.

Go into your settings, navigate to “general” and slide the side switch to “lock orientation.” Typically, this is set to mute, but that can be incredibly inconvenient. For example, if you are trying to read on your iPad, the screen may continuously rotate, causing you some frustration. Fix this ahead of time.

You can display your Ipad screen on a HD TV. All you need is an Apple digital AV adapter or an Apple VGA adapter depending on the kind of TV you have. This first product can be plugged into an HDMI port while the second one requires a VGA port.

Do you need some help with organizing your busy schedule? Install a Google calendar on your iPad. Tap on the mail section of your settings and select calendars. Choose add a calendar, select Google as your server and enter your Google account information. Your Google calendar will then be exported to your iPad calendar.

When viewing web content on your iPad, you may have to scroll down for what seems like forever. Scrolling your way back to the top of the page is time-consuming and annoying. To move instantly back to the top without scrolling, simply tap on the title bar, which is located at the top of your screen.

Create folders to better organize your iPad screens. Just get your screen to jiggle mode and then place the icons on each other if you would like them in the same folder and repeat until you have everything where you want it. This feature is great when you have twenty or more icons.

Put a screen protector on your iPad. It does not interfere with the visibility of the display. The screen protector protects your iPad from oils and dirt from your fingers. It is great way to prevent your screen from permanent scratches. If the protector is scratched, it can be easily replace.

Copy and pasting is another great feature that the iPad offers. Press at the beginning of the text and choose Select. Press again to highlight the text, and then press Copy. You can paste, then, by pressing, then holding, and choosing “paste”.

Most people know about accessing the iTunes store with their iPads, but they’re not aware of all the added features. One such feature is iTunes U. The U stands for university. This application has podcasts that are education-related for many professional topics and can help you to learn more.

By clicking two times on your iPad’s Home button you can quickly view a list of the applications that are currently running. They will appear in a bar located at the bottom of your iPad’s screen. If you want to change to a new app, just tap on it once. You can remove this bar by swiping the screen down.

Use Folders. You can now put folders on your iPad. Simply press down on one icon until it begins to jiggle, and then place it “on top” of another icon. You will then create a folder that includes both of those icons. This can be a quick way to organize all of the things you have on your iPad.

The new keyboard is packed full of features, so many that some appear to be hidden. The new apostrophe key is tucked away within the virtual keyboard on the second screen. Press the “!” key for a few moments and you can circumvent this second page page with an immediate apostrophe.

If you want to add extra security to your iPad, you have a few options. The first is built into your device in the setting’s tab. If you want further security, you can download a variety of free or paid apps that will add extra layers of protection to your iPad.

If you have an Internet connection on your iPad, you can get real time traffic information on it. Simply open the Maps then press the dog-eared page icon found on the lower right. Select the overlay for Traffic icon. Your map will then show real time traffic right on it.

Get a case or screen protector. If you use your iPad regularly, it is going to show signs of wear and tear, particularly on the screen. To avoid more than is necessary, get a screen protector or a case so that you can keep the screen free from scratches and damage.

Google Maps is a graphic intensive program on many computers, but the iPad handles it perfectly and allows indepth street views. The GUI seems confusing at first, but navigation is straightforward and a red pin designates an area for street view. With this new view, you will be able to get up close and personal with your favorite locations through the iPad.

Did you know you can change the apps at the bottom of your screen? If you find you’re not using those which are there, or you’d just like to switch them out, press and hold an icon until they begin to wiggle. Drag out those you don’t want and drag in those you do want.

Reading through this article is the first step in getting your iPad to do exactly what you want it to. Since there are so many features, it can initially seem overwhelming, but this article helps to consolidate your information regarding how to use an iPad. Don’t forget to save it for later!

  24. Natural Talalay Latex Mattresses And

    by Frederick

    Denver, CO May 15, 2013

When trying to choose a product, knowing the advantages and benefits as perceived by others often proves helpful, hence the popularity of reviews and ratings. Mattress Journal, a blog about beds and sleep news, takes an in-depth look at one type of mattress in particular in their latest article, ?8 Reasons People Choose A Natural Talalay Latex Mattress?.

The article begins by explaining what a natural Talalay latex mattress is, and what differentiates it from other options. It is stated that the source of natural latex is the rubber tree. In order to make the end product using the advanced Talalay process, the liquid is frothed with a handful of other ingredients, poured into a vacuum-sealed mold, flash frozen, heated, washed, and dried.

Eight advantages are mentioned which might lead some consumers to consider a natural Talalay latex mattress over other types like memory foam or innerspring beds. In order, the reasons presented include pure materials, environmental friendliness, relative safety, durability, resiliency, customization, cool sleep, and allergy friendliness.

In essence, the reasons focus on health benefits. One of the most advertised and most desirable aspects of natural latex beds is the lack of dangerous chemicals, as seen through several of the points presented in the article. The absence of VOCs, adhesives and chemical flame retardants proves desirable for those with chemical sensitivities and allergies, as well as people trying to make their homes healthier or lead greener lives.

Mattress Journal wraps up the article answering the question of where to find this type of bed. They recommend consumers consider online retailers if local options are lacking, since natural beds can be expensive or difficult to find in local specialty stores. From their comparison of natural latex brands, Mattress Journal suggests Astrabeds.com, which retails 100% natural Talalay latex mattresses with organic cotton covers and Oeko-Tex 100 certification.

MattressJournal.com offers the latest bed news and mattress reviews to help shoppers research purchases and get the best sleep possible. Through careful, independent analysis of mattress types, brands, and sleep research, the blog offers expert opinions in readable, relatable format. With a focus on making the buying process simpler, Mattress Journal proves a valuable resource for consumers.

    by Frederick

College students nowadays have a lot on their plates. From making good grades to determining what they should major in, college students do not have it easy. Everyone needs some excellent advice from time to time, especially college students. Continue reading for some solid tips on how to get through those college years successfully.

You should not consider going to college unless you have a good idea of the kind of career you want or at least have a general idea. Meet with a career counselor to find out more about your different options and take the time to do some research about different schools and programs.

Help created a study group or get a study buddy for classes and subjects that you may need more help with. Everyone has different learning styles, and you may learn and retain more while working and discussing with your study partner and group, instead of from the fast-paced lecture form your professor.

Going to college is a real commitment. If you are thinking about getting an education, you need to make sure you will have enough time to attend classes and do your homework. You might have to make some changes to your schedule, talk to your family and to your employer before you enroll for school.

Do not get involved with the people that want to party all the time. Having fun during college is important, but there is a time and a place. If you allow yourself to fall into those bad habits, your grades will surely suffer. Only have fun when you have done everything you need to do..

Make sure you choose your classes wisely and do not just pick easy subjects. It is beneficial to challenge yourself. You’ll learn a lot and have a better college experience.

Attend every class unless you are sick. Unlike when you were in high school, most of the time you are not required to attend all of your classes. However, if you stay home you may miss valuable information or the opportunity to meet other students and get to know your teachers.

Consider an internship while at college. You can get experience in the field that you are interested in. You might even become hired by your internship. You’ll find plenty of resources available from your college that can help you set up an internship, so take advantage of the opportunity!

When you are studying, use the 30-3-2 rule. This simply means that you should concentrate intently on the subject you are studying, then take a three minute break before taking another two minutes to recall the information you learned during the previous 30 minutes. Then start the process all over again.

Today’s online universities are a great way to go back to school more easily if you also have a job to contend with. Online schools are perfect for folks whose schedules require they attend classes on their own schedule. It is the most convenient way to get an education.

During your first couple of years in college, explore your education options. This is the time when you can find out what you are really interested in studying. If you try different types of classes, you may discover a subject that you really like to major in. Keep your options open and do not limit yourself.

Get to know the people in the financial aid office. If you make friends with them, they will appear more friendly to you. Then, when you have questions, they can assist you more easily. While they are all professionals, it never hurts to grease the social wheels when it comes to your financial needs.

Go shopping for essentials about a month before you go away to school. Get everything you think you need, and then you will have time to think about things you might have needed and have time to go to the store to pick them up before you leave. Early preparation is the key!

Take advantage of your professors’ office hours. They exist for a reason, so if you are having trouble understanding a particular concept or area of the course, don’t be afraid of asking for help. Teachers don’t want you to fail, and are usually happy to help you or at least point you in the right direction.

When starting a new class, seek out people you know from other classes or other students who share common interests. By making friends with classmates you can have a better chance to form study groups that can ultimately lead to better study habits when it comes time for midterms and finals.

Eat well. You may have heard of the ‘freshman fifteen’, or the 15 pounds that many college freshmen gain when their moms are not watching their diets! Remember that good food makes you feel alert and energetic, and the wrong foods will make you tired and hinder your performance. Eat right!

Understand that when you enter college, you do not have to choose a major immediately. Take a few classes to truly understand what you want to do with the rest of your life before you make this decision. Furthermore, remember that you can always change your major after you select one.

Make sure that your campus social circle extends past your dorm. While it is good to have friends in your residential building, also form relationships with those in your primary classes and also through a club or two. Having access to a variety of viewpoints on the campus can open doors for you.

Avoid student loans. If you are realistic about your necessary expenses, you will find that you probably don’t need the loan money. Student’s loans add up quickly and usually cannot be discharged in a bankruptcy. If you cannot afford school without loans, look into other schools. Community colleges are often affordable.

As stated in the above article, college life is hard. No one can truly understand just how difficult it is unless they have been a student themselves. Utilize these tips in order to help you get through this difficult time in your life. Just remember to not give up. One day, you will thank yourself for sticking with it.

  27. Things That Will Help With

    by Frederick

Is there anything else out there that you want other than great advice for taking care of your tinnitus? It is doubtful that there is anything that ranks higher. Tinnitus can stop you from enjoying your life and this article will provide advice on the best ways that you can deal with the annoyance you have to deal with.

If you begin to develop any symptoms of tinnitus, you may want to see an Ears, Nose, and Throat Specialist or Audiologist. These two kinds of doctors are trained in dealing with tinnitus, so they would be able to both diagnose the condition as well as properly treat it.

Reducing your stress levels can be all that it takes to get rid of tinnitus. High levels of stress can cause a variety of different medical conditions, with tinnitus being one of them. So, controlling your levels of stress can also reduce or get rid of chronic ringing in your ears.

Turn on any type of machinery that generates soft background noise if you’re having tinnitus symptoms. The background sounds cover up your tinnitus so that you either don’t notice it as much or you don’t even notice it at all. It is simpler to focus on the tinnitus if it is all you can hear.

Research the various natural remedies for tinnitus. There are many means that people were able to successfully treat tinnitus for centuries without the use of medication. Be sure to talk with your physician before trying something, as some herbs can interact with medication, and some of the options available may not be healthy for you.

Get a white-noise machine. While you obviously can’t carry this around with you wherever you go, using it when you can, will help reduce the amount of ringing that you hear. One ideal time to use the machine is when you are sleeping; it can have the added benefit of canceling out other noises in your home that might wake you up.

To stay positive in the face of your condition, seek out a tinnitus support group. It can be difficult for people to understand what you’re going through if they don’t have tinnitus themselves. Talking to people who really understand your struggles can be wonderful. If there’s not a support group in your area, try to find one online.

Making sure you’re getting enough exercise can help reduce the symptoms of tinnitus. The better your overall health is, the lower your blood pressure and the quieter the rushing sounds in your ears will be. It can also help you rid your body of toxins, which can clog your ear canal even more.

Avoid a diet high in sodium to reduce tinnitus symptoms. The more salt you eat, the higher your blood pressure will be, increasing the sound of blood rushing in your ears. Try to eat a healthy diet rich in nutrients and you should experience less tinnitus symptoms.

Stop and listen to your home to see what white noise you hear, then use it to help you to cover up the sounds in your ears due to tinnitus. For example, in your room, open the window to see if there’s sounds outside that will cover over the ringing in your ears.

Time management is a great way to reduce stress levels and keep tinnitus at bay. Investing in effective time management software will help you to keep track of both your business and personal lives so you don’t miss any events and can instead relax and know that everything is under control.

If you suffer from tinnitus, you should consider taking ginkgo biloba. Ginkgo biloba naturally improves your circulation and can relieve the impact of your tinnitus symptoms. Be sure to investigate the right dose for you. If you take medication, make sure that there is no risk of an adverse reaction.

If you are newly experiencing tinnitus, your best approach may be to simply ignore it. The majority of the cases of tinnitus go away on their own. Even if they don’t, they subside enough that they do not disrupt your life. If the tinnitus continues to be a problem, however, you should consult your doctor.

One way to minimize the effects of tinnitus is to minimize the stress you experience. Your emotional problems may be manifesting themselves with the symptoms of tinnitus. Plan things ahead of time and take some time for yourself. Make it a daily practice to breathe deeply and meditate, so that it becomes a habit you don’t even have to think about.

Make a playlist of pleasant music. When you have tinnitus and you want to go to sleep, it can be difficult to fall asleep. Making a playlist of your favorite music and play it as you go to sleep. This will help you to ignore the ringing in your ears.

It is important to not give up on your tinnitus treatment if it does not seem to be working at first. This is a complex condition that affects a delicate organ of your body. Some treatments can take a while before you start to notice the benefits. Be patient, and give your body some time to heal itself.

Before your doctor prescribes a new medication, make sure to remind her that you have had problems with tinnitus. Up to 200 medicines, both prescription and over the counter, can make your situation worse. If you experience new or increasing tinnitus symptoms soon after beginning a new medication, talk to your doctor about changing your prescription.

The severity of tinnitus is triggered by many things, but one of the more common triggers is loud sounds. If you have tinnitus, you must be sure to avoid any areas that are going to subject you to loud noises. If you must be in that type of area, be sure to wear quality ear protection.

To summarize, you desire the best information possible for your tinnitus because it is preventing you from getting out there leading the life that you want to live. Start now and use the expertly written advice that has been given to you in order to make this condition as bearable as possible.

  28. Use Your Ipad Like A

    by Frederick

Apple created the iPad after the success of the iPod, and this larger version has really taken the world by storm. The first tablet with such a wide selection of apps available has become the desire of millions around the world. This article aims to help you learn how to use your iPad successfully.

If you plan to use your iPad to stream movies, play games or listen to music continuously, battery life may be shortened significantly. A simple way to get more play time out of each charge of the battery is to use a low screen brightness setting. It is unlikely that the brightest settings are needed to achieve a good picture.

Take the time to get to know your iPad’s settings. Apple has provided a wide range of options to make your iPad extremely customizable. Changing your settings can make your iPad a lot more fun to use and it may even become faster and easier to use. It is worth is to take this time and learn it.

The percentage of battery you have left is rarely accurate. You can turn this feature off by going to the general tab in your settings and tapping on usage. You will then be able to turn off the battery percentage feature. Your iPad will display a battery with a certain level of power without calculating a percentage.

Fed up with being asked to join different Wi-Fi networks? There is an easy way to fix this issue in the Wi-Fi Settings. Simply turn off the Ask to Join settings. You will still be able to join networks; however, you will need to go to Wi-Fi settings and join from there.

It is a good idea to turn off your iPad’s push mail. A lot of mail accounts default settings go to Push as a delivery mechanism. This automatically will push your new mail as soon as available. This can be distracting and interfere with what you are working on. Turn this feature off.

For the devoted iPad user who spends a lot of time traveling, it is essential to carry an extra battery that has been charged. It is very inconvenient to run out of juice while on a plane or train, with no hope of plugging in a charger until the destination has been reached.

If you’re worried about people trying to access your data, you can fix your iPad to erase your data if there are a certain number of failed attempts. Everything on your iPad will be deleted if there are 10 failed password attempts.

Get an iPad cover as soon as possible. While the front glass is made of Gorilla Glass (a very strong material), it can still scratch. You want to protect your investment. Get a screen cover that will protect your iPad glass when you have it in your bag. This way you are sure that it is safe.

Turn on multitasking gestures in your iPad settings. These multitasking gestures give you ways to control your screen with a few flicks. You can switch windows, switch applications, and more. It makes your iPad feel very sci-fi as your touch becomes your only control. If you don’t like the gestures, you can always turn them off again in settings.

Using AirPrint, you can print straight from your iPad, as long as you have a compatible printer. AirPrint works with most newer HP printers. If you have a Mac, you can use the Printopia app to print to any Mac printer. To use AirPrint, simply go to the share menu and choose print–that’s it!

To protect your battery’s life, set the brightness to auto brightness. When you choose auto brightness, your device will adjust to the lighting within your surroundings. This saves a great deal of battery life and extends the length of time you can use your iPad before needing to recharge its battery. Select this option in the Settings menu under Brightness and Wallpaper.

Unfortunately, the iPad does not have a free satellite navigation feature. However, the map’s direction features works great for driving, walking, and even bus directions. To use it, simply tap on “Directions”, found on the top left corner of the maps app, and you will be given a step-by-step guide to your destination.

The iPad is a great tool for taking and emailing pictures. Once you have a picture that you want to share on your iPad, sending it via email is simple. Just open the photo on your iPad and look for the rectangle in the upper right-hand corner. Click on that and you will be given an opportunity to share via email. Simply choose that option and type in your recipients to send.

It is very easy for you to email other people photos while using your iPad. All you have to do is locate the photo you want to send and press the button located in the right-hand corner. There is an option there that will allow you to send the photo to anyone you want.

Take advantage of free apps for your iPad. Although there are a number of sites that offer apps at reasonable prices, there are also those that give them to you for free. Be sure to check the reputability of the site you download from and read the fine print. You should have no problem getting nearly everything you need at no cost.

Never waste time wandering aimlessly through your library of music looking for the one tune you hope to hear. Use the Spotlight search feature. Just flick to the right on your Home screen to get to Searchlight. Alternatively, you can press the Home button. This feature is also helpful in launching apps and can help you find contacts too.

These tips and tricks truly are priceless. Put them to work to ensure your iPad lives up to your standards. Putting them into use is the most important thing you can do, so keep them in mind as you install apps, create videos, listen to music or read recipes online.
